January 14 is the Centenary of the Death of Omo N’oba Ovonramwen in Exile

On January 1, 2014, Nigeria will be 100 years old (modern day Nigeria came into being on January 1, 1914).But I don't think the federal government is fully prepared for the celebration of the Nigeria Centenary on Wednesday next week, because the Presidency is more occupied with addressing the face-off with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

January 14 is also the centenary of the death of the great King of Benin, Omo n’Oba Ovonramwen Nogbaisi in exile in Calabar on January 14, 1914. And the great Benin Kingdom led by Oba of Benin,Omo N'Oba,N'Edo Uku Akpolokplolo EREDIAUWA, C.F.R, will be marking the historic day at the palace.

Famous Nollywood filmmaker and one of the most illustrious sons of Benin Kingdom, Lancelot Imasuen will host special guests from corporate Nigeria and leading journalists at his Lagos studios on January 14, 2014 to celebrate Omo n’Oba Ovonramwen Nogbaisi, the subject of his historical epic film Invasion 1897, currently the most expensive Nigerian film.
