Tinubu, Shettima Re-nominations: Chief Tony Chukwu Lauds APC, Felicitates President, Vice President

A prominent political stakeholder in Imo State, Chief Tony Chukwu( Onwegi ihe kariri Chineke) has commended the All Progressives Congress, (APC) for re-nominating President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as the 2027  Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates of the party respectively.

In a press statement made avilable to newsmen, Chief Chukwu who is also a business mogul and philanthropist, said the unanimous endorsement of the President and the Vice President by the APC reflects the overwhelming confidence of Nigerians and party members in their leadership commitment to national renewal and determination to build a more prosperous, secure and united Nigeria.

Felicitating the Nigerian leader and his deputy on their renominations, Chief Chukwu said: " I wish the President and Vice President a successful campaign that would lead to a landslide victory and reaffirm the hope of all Nigerians for the continued peace, progress and sustainable development for our great country"

The funeral, January 15th, 2026, of the late Mrs Comfort Ezenna( Ada Jesus) may have come and gone but given that the Ezennas are strong rooted Catholics, the sheer number of Catholic priests and Bishops that officiated in her funeral will remain etched in the hearts.

A devout Catholic during her life time , the late Mrs Ezenna dedicated her life to the service and worship of God while alive.

In her later life lived a puritanical spiritual and Oblate life prompting her son, Sir Tony Ezenna  to establish Pora Caeli  Cistercian Monastery in Owerre Akokwa in her honour.

Sir Ezenna himself had received Papal kinght in 2009 from the then Catholic pontiff, Pope Benedict.

The Mrs Ezenna's funeral mass was officiated by two Bishops- Most Rev. Augustine T. Ukwuoma, Catholic Bishop of Orlu Diocese and Most Rev. Valerian M. Okeke,  Archbishop of Onitsha Diocese with over 100 Reverend fathers and many monks, including one of her sons Rev.Fr( Monk)Okey Ezenna.

Monpere's Classical Band directed by Chukwuebuka Anacletus Ogbonna added solemn and ecclesiastical touch to the burial as their soul- stirring renditions held guests spellbound.
