I Was Not Born Yesterday in Music

An important background of my compositions.

My current photograph of selfie with Nkechika taken this morning with my smartphone and the background generated with Google Gemini, my digital assistant of awesome genius. Nkechika will be featured in the musical videos of three of my songs for my first ELP for the Christmas and the Valentine by the grace of Almighty God.

I Was Not Born Yesterday in Music.

My great father, Sunday Eke of blessed memory had and played violin and loved classical music. My passion for pop music attracted me to choose to attend the famous secondary school, St. Gregory's College on Lagos Island in south west Nigeria, because of the popularity of Ofege, the school band that was formed in the early 1970s by a group of teenagers at the St. Gregory’s College. Influenced by the leading stars of the era, especially Carlos Santana, Led Zeppelin, The Funkees, and Ofo The Black Company, Ofege introduced a different dimension of funk laced with rock solos that made them one of the greatest Nigerian bands of all time.

Read about Ofege on
https://guardian.ng/life/ofege-alades-demise-brings-back-memories-of-boy-band-that-shook-nigerias-music-scene/

I was part of the singers in the live performance of "Ipi Tombi" South African musical concert done in 1978 by St. Gregory's College and the sister school, Holy Child College in south west Ikoyi on the Lagos Island, Nigeria.
I studied rudiments of music on my own.
I use beatboxing and tonic solfa to compose my songs and have done sing with a back up band.
I compose the lyrics and the tunes and I worked with  musicians who studied music to produce the songs.
I composed "Hardway To Broadway" in 1981 and paid for the production in California and a copy is in the Library of Congress, Washington DC, USA copyrighted in 1984.
My name then was Mike Nelson Chima Eke.

I composed "She Comes on Sundays" and was produced in 2002 in OJB Studios in Surulere on the mainland of Lagos by three young R&B singers known for their hit song, "Chiyenre".
"She Comes on Sundays" was broadcast with one hour interview on BBC Radio in April 2003.
Earlier in 2002, I performed my love song, "Darego, You Are the Most Beautiful Girl in the World" backed by the #1 rock guitarist in Africa, Dabyna Abraham-Poll and his band at the Maison de France of the French Cultural Centre during the graduation ceremony of the students of the Alliance Francaise in Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria.

I have used Suno to produce several songs of my original lyrics and I have decided to launch my music company, MCI for music production and promotion.

My original voice and my original lyrics .

It is easier to win the Grammys now without even singing well, because you can simply voice over already recorded soundtracks and be slurring sensually with exhibition of sexuality to charm millions of people listening on radio and watching music videos.

The Omalicha of NOLLYWOOD

The Omalicha of NOLLYWOOD

There are Omalichas of Nollywood. And she is The Omalicha of the Omalichas of Nollywood and the most beautiful so far in the history of the Nigerian film industry since 1960 to date.
Who is she?
As I showed her gazing at the mirror in "Mirror, Mirror, Who is the Fairest of them All?".
I wrote about her beauty in the popular article published by Nigeria Film, Modern Ghana and my own TALK OF THE TOWN By Orikinla. And of course I included her among the 34 Beauty Queens of Nollywood and Kannywood in the second edition of the NOLLYWOOD MIRROR® Series published in 2014.

The Beauty Queens of Nollywood and Kannywood should be a reality TV series on Netflix or Showmax and the series will attract millions of their fans and followers online and offline. I have identified more than 34 with the new beauty queens like Adesua Etomi- Wellington and sultry Sophie Alakija.

She has been the most beautiful since I have known her at the different locations for casting calls for auditions for new movies.
Year: 1996
Location: Idi Iroko bus stop
Ikorodu Road, Lagos, Nigeria .
Title of Movie: Cover Up
Ejike Asiegbu, Emeka Ike, Emeka Enyiocha, Segun Arinze, Adim Williams, Chyke Brian and Regina Askia later joined us for her role of the leading lady during the rehearsals.
Enebeli Elebuwa of blessed memory came around with Charly Boy on his power bike.

Then, the Omalicha was between 16 and 19. Emeka Enyiocha was often with her at the locations. And he was sitting beside her on this occasion.
She stood up and sashayed to me holding an orange in her right hand.
Without saying any word, she gave me the orange with glints in her beautiful brown eyes.
I accepted it with thanks and she returned to her seat as I admired her.
She was guided by her inner spirit.
She went on to become one the most famous actresses in Nollywood and she became the first Nigerian actor and actress to be named among The TIME 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2013 and named her "Queen of Nollywood" which I celebrated in the first edition of the NOLLYWOOD MIRRORS® Series published in the same year and now a collector's edition.
If you are still wondering who?
Then you are a JJC in Nollywood.

She is The OMALICHA of NOLLYWOOD of the 50 Most Outstanding Women in Nollywood and the Nigerian Film Industry, including The ADAEZE of NOLLYWOOD, ADAORA of NOLLYWOOD, ADAUGO of NOLLYWOOD, ADAURE of NOLLYWOOD and ADABEKE of NOLLYWOOD to be profiled in the third edition of the NOLLYWOOD MIRROR® Series.
It is a collector's edition in full colour on glossy paper printed in Raleigh, North Carolina,USA.
You can pre-order the hardcover version for only $50 (fifty dollars) including delivery by DHL or UPS.

The Omalicha inspired me to compose the following lyrics of my new song for one of prospective new Afrobeats singers I have discovered in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Yes. I I am a very good lyricist as well as a first prize winning poet.
My song "Hardway To Broadway" was recorded in California was I was 18 and copyrighted with a copy in the Library of Congress, Washington DC, USA in 1984.
My second recording, "She Comes on Sundays": was produced in Lagos in 2003 and I had one hour interview with the broadcast of the song on the BBC Radio in April, 2003 heard by millions of listeners worldwide.
I am currently recording three new songs: "Your Majesty, Lord Almighty", "Omalicha" and the title of the third song is CLASSIFIED.
As Rema will say,. "Another Banger!"
My last stage performance was a live concert for the graduation ceremony of the Alliance Française in 2002 in Lagos. I sang my song, "Darego!" I composed to celebrate Darego for winning the Miss World beauty pageant in 2001. I was backed by one of the best rock guitarists in the world, "Son of Rock" Dabyna Abraham-Poll and his band. The girls were screaming with excitement in the mini theatre of the French Cultural Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos.
It was a romantic night to remember.

My live life is scripted by Almighty God And He said He wired me differently from others.

OMALICHA

Omalicha
You are beautiful.
Omalicha
You are wonderful
Omalicha
You are very pretty
Omalicha
No one can deny your beauty
Omalicha
You are catwalking up and down

You make heads to turn on the street
From the street to the internet

The Best and Biggest International Acquisition for NIgerian Content in 2021 Happened on Vuulr

The best and biggest international acquisition deal for Nollywood in 2021 happened on Vuulr

On Vuulr, over 68 hours of NIgerian content was bought by a leading OTT platform in North America and more movies were acquired by an Asian video streaming and video on demand platform, one of the biggest and largest video streaming services in the world with over 280 million users globally and has a streaming library of over 150,000 hours across 12 languages worldwide.

Other major international acquisition, distribution and production deals in 2021 included Lionsgate's acquisition of "A Soldier's Story 2" for video on demand and television distribution across the United States and Canada; Silverbird Group's US$50 mllion deal with AAA Entertainment of South Africa to develop and produce a series of cinematic African feature films in Africa; Kemi Adetiba's deal with Netflix for "King Of Boys: The Return Of The King" political thriller in a seven-part project that is Netflix's first Original Series from Nigeria; Walt Disney Animation Studios and the Kugali Media's Disney Plus Original Series “Iwájú” and lest I forget BBC Studios signed a development deal with Mo Abudu's EbonyLife for a six-part heist crime thriller, "Reclaim".
These groundbreaking deals for content producers in Nollywood and the Nigerian film industry have made International headlines and I am expecting more international acquisition and distribution of NIgerian movies and series in 2022.
