Osumenyi Stands Still as Okonkwo Pays Condolence Visit to In-laws

All roads led to the Umuomam village, Osunmenyi in Nnewi North local government area of Anambra state on Friday, April 22nd 2022 as Chief Sunny Okonkwo KSC (Ikukuoma na Ichi) paid condolence visit to his in-laws, the Onwughalus.

The Ownwughalu family was celebrating the life and time of their patriarch,  the late Chief (Sir)  Chris Nkayi Onwughalu (KSM) a.k.a Onyefeeze who died on December 2nd, 2021 aged 83.

A devout Catholic, businessman and a community leader, Sir Onwughalu was buried on April 2Ist 2022, however, Chief Okonkwo stormed Osumenyi the next day in a grand condolence visit.

Chief  Okonkwo who is in Director of Ekulo Group, and his entourage were warmly received by his wife and daughter of the deceased, Dr(Lady) Nonye Winnie Okonkwo

Among high flyers and dignitaries that accompanied Ikukuoma to the condolence visit include  Ikenga Ichi and chairman of the Ekulo Group, Sir Emma Bishop Okonkwo, Senator Annie Okonkwo,Chief Sam Okonkwo (Enyiagboso),Igwe Oranyeli,His Royal Majesty, Igwe Gerald Mbamalu,Sen. Ben Ndi Obi( Ojeligbo),Hon.Barr Ben Chuks Nwosu, Sen.Sir and Lady Victor Umeh,( Ohamadike), Dr Obiora Okonkwo(Dikeora), Chief Uzu Okagbue, Chief Joseph Momah( Ajose),Chief Emma Aniakor, Chief Tony Okonkwo( Dream Cosmetics), Chief Tony Maduka(Okosisi Alor)Chief Obinna Udeaja, Barr Austin Enendu, Barr( Dr) and Prof(Mrs) Emma Ifeadike, Chief Amobi Ezekwe( Ugbo Abagana), Chief Jonex Uzo Okafor, Chief Ezekiel Okeke( Amalu),Justice Emeka NriEzedi, Chief Damain Onyekachi, Chief Emeka Nmeka.

I was saddened to learn of the news of the passing of your predecessor, His Excellency Umaru Musa Yar'Adua. On behalf of the people and the Government of Singapore, I would like to offer my deepest condolences to President Yar'Adua's family and to the people and Government of Nigeria.


His Excellency Yar'Adua's commitment to building peace, stability and security in Nigeria are important legacies to the people of Nigeria and I am confident that Nigerians will remain united during this difficult period.


Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.
