Top 10 Most Outstanding People and Events in Nollywood in 2013
1. Omotola Jolade-Ekeinde, for making the highly esteemed 2013 TIME 100; an annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world, and named the Queen of Nollywood. The first ever for any Nigerian entertainer and boosting the mileage and patronage of Nollywood in the world as she graced the exclusive 2013 Time 100 Gala at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center on April 23, 2013, with the crème de la crème of Hollywood.
2. Kenneth Gyang, one of the youngest filmmakers in Nollywood and his first feature films: the political love story "Blood and Henna" (2012) won Best Achievement In Costume Design and "Confusion Na Wa" (2013), which received funding from the Rotterdam Film Festival’s Hubert Bals Fund won highly coveted awards for the Best Film and Best Nigerian Film at the 2013 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), and at the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, "Confusion Na Wa" won Best Movie of the Year, Movie with the Best Production Design, Best Edited Movie, Best Screenplay and Director of the Year and Kenneth also won The Future Awards 2013 Prize In Arts & Culture.
4. Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen’s most ambitious film production to date, the historical epic "Invasion 1897" and being the only African director among the 26 directors selected for the second part of the American horror trilogy "The ABCs of Death 2" made headlines in Nigeria and abroad. "Invasion 1897" is the most expensive film production in Nollywood at the moment.
5. The inaugural AfricaMagic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) is the best awards event in Nollywood in 2013, for the world class organization in the management with the glitz and razzmatazz that can only be compared to the best awards events in Hollywood.
6. The 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) celebrating Pan African unity is the second best awards event in Nollywood in 2013.
7. Nollywood @20 Celebrations of Celebrities Glam Night on November 2, and Nollywood at 20 Grand Awards Night on November 27, 2013 were fantastic.

Last Flight to Abuja won the 2013 AMAA Prize for Best Film by an African Abroad, is the most watched Nigerian (non-music) video on Youtube with over 1, 500, 000 views, and also broke new grounds for Nollywood at major international film festivals, at the UK box office and made over N54 million at the box office.
