The Problem with Made in China

Briefing Manufacturing in Asia
The Economist, January 13th, 2007.
Page 68-70

It is worth reading if you missed the issue.

Can Nigeria become the China of Africa?

Why did the American firms ignore Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa with the largest market on the continent for the location of their factories?
Nigeria does not have the required utilities for the mass production of their products?

Can Nigeria become in Africa what China has become in Asia?
Labour is cheaper in Nigeria than China.
Transportation by railway is also cheaper.
The major hindrance is lack of regular power supply?
CIG Motors of China has an assembly plant in Lagos in spite of the challenges of doing business in Nigeria.

The Capitalism of Made in China should be a good title for a book on how American capitalism dines and wines with communism in China.
This should be a case study on the international politics of the economics of Made in China factories of blue chip American firms.

Big American Companies with factories in China include the following:

General Motors
Nike Store
Boeing
Coca Cola
KFC
Microsoft
Procter & Gamble
Starbucks
Intel
Walmart

Like the phenomenal Asian Tigers, can we see the emergence of the African Lions in global trade led by Nigeria?

2023 in Review: International Digital Post Network Limited: A Potential Unicorn

2023 has been an awesome year of rough economic challenges of tough times.

Inspite of the odds against me, my duly incorporated International Digital Post Network Limited (IDPNL) has been able to remain totally debt free and has never borrowed since the incorporation in September, 2009.

https://nigeriansreportng.blogspot.com/2023/06/international-digital-post-network.html

Personally, the total amount I have owed in my life so far is $600 (six hundred dollars) only.

International Digital Post Network Limited has been a success story with highly valuable assets and products and international partnerships in the digital media industry, blockchain, mobility, e-commerce and entertainment industry making it a potential Unicorn by the total valuation of the assets, products and partnerships for the Big Picture of the future of Nollywood and the Nigerian film industry and creative economy.

IDPNL has partnerships with companies in America, India and Singapore in the global film industry in film acquisition, distribution, production and exhibition.

I am still having 100% ownership of the International Digital Post Network Limited and the subsidiaries. Because, I am the still the sole funder of the company.

Thanks to Almighty God for great is His faithfulness, goodness and mercies and loving kindness.

I trust Almighty God for the best in 2024.

Cheers!
Best regards,

The company’s outlook for the future of Nigeria’s construction industry is extremely positive. “As a result of to the Federation Government’s import policies, as well as dollar rationing and the impact of Covid on export, logistics and production costs, CDK has experienced considerable growth of over 65% in the last two years,” says CDK Brand and Marketing Manager, Abimbola Onagbade.

Over and above the wealth of products and services on show from local and international exhibitors, visitors to the 3-day in-person event will have the opportunity to learn valuable industry insights when they attend a series of CPD-certified talks, featuring keynotes and panel discussions led by notable industry experts that address the challenges of construction and explore the key components for practical growth and prosperity.
