The Most Popular Film Stills From A Nigerian Film and TV Production

The most popular stills in circulation from a Nigerian film or TV  production are from the second phase of the principal photography of my documentary film, "Lagos in Motion" in 2016.

I published the photo book of the stills.currently distributed by Amazon, Barnes and Noble and other booksellers.

View the NFTs exclusively on the Algorand blockchain
https://nftmyimage.com/@nigeriadaily
NFTs last longer than photos, videos and films that are not on the blockchain.

The NFTs will be in the decentralized InterPlanetary File System.

The pictures show beautiful #Nollywood actress, model and beauty pageant Queen, Celina Ideh and other people in "Lagos in Motion" in the Toyota SUV as I was recording whilst the vehicle was moving us to another location in Lagos, Africa's largest megacity; on the Lekki- Ikoyi Link Bridge, Elegushi Beach, new Tejuosho Market and Onike in Yaba.

Film stills are very important in film studies.

Stills are essentially photographs taken on the set or during the production of a movie. They serve as a visual representation of the film, capturing key moments, characters, and set designs. These images are commonly used for promotional purposes, including posters, press kits, and marketing materials. And they are also used by scholars and students of film studies.

How Many NOLLYWOOD Movies Have Been Shot on Canon?

How Many NOLLYWOOD Movies Have Been Shot on Canon?

How many Nollywood movies have been shot on Canon?

This is a very important question both for Nollywood and Canon.

Knowing how many people are using your products is critical to the growth of your company in Research and Development (R&D); Marketing and Sales Analysis of the products and services.

Nollywood is the largest film industry in Africa in the productions of movies and should be the largest market for cameras for both cinematography and photography.

The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN) , Producers Guild of Nigeria (PGN) and Cinematographers Guild of Nigeria (CGN) or Association of Cinematographers in Nigeria (ACN) should know and have the data on the cameras and accessories used for film and TV productions in the Nigerian film industry.

These facts are included in the indices for the development and growth of the film industry.

What are models and specifications of the Canon cameras used for film and TV productions in the Nigerian film industry?

When did Canon cameras become the most popular cameras in the Nigerian film industry?

Does Canon know the film and TV productions shot with Canon cameras?

The most popular and the best Canon cameras used in Nollywood and Kannywood?

The best movies, documentaries and music videos shot on Canon?

The award winning film and TV productions shot with Canon cameras?

By the way, the third part of my on going documentary film, "Lagos in Motion" was shot on Canon.

Small Camera with Big Dreams Versus Big Camera with Small Imagination

Reading in Motion" showing #Nollywood actress,, Celina James reading, "Conspiracy of Lagos" by Bisi Daniels in my documentary film, "Lagos in Motion".

Small Camera with Big Dreams Versus Big Camera with Small Imagination

It is better to have a small camera with big dreams than to have a big camera with small Imagination.

What makes a great filmmaker and photographer is not the size of the camera, but the size of the Imagination.

Without cinematography, there is no cinema.
What has really affected the quality of film productions in Nollywood is the lack of enough professional cinematographers.
From the first 60 seconds of a movie, you can see if the cinematography is good or bad.
What will guarantee the picture quality of a movie are the technical quality of the camera; the professional expertise of the cameraman or camerawoman and the expertise of the cinematographer.

Years ago, as a member of the Digital Cinema Society founded by James Mathers, I started the Nollywood Digital blog to announce and introduce new digital cinema cameras to Nigerian filmmakers to keep them updated on the best cameras for the best film and TV productions. I also proposed a quarterly Nollywood Digital Cinema Exhibition for hands-on demonstrations of the cameras and screenings of award winning movies shot with the cameras.

The most popular cameras in Nollywood are from Sony, BlackMagic Design and Canon.
It is important for these manufacturers to have regular demonstrations of their cameras like Sony Middle East and Africa in collaboration with Kontakt Pro Nigeria Ltd had in Nigeria last September, 2022, showcasing the Cinema Line FX3, FX6 and the FX9 full-frame digital cameras.

Sony has recommended the new FX30 as an ideal choice for filmmakers actively working on or considering entering the Sony Future Filmmaker Awards, a major new annual awards program for short films. www.sonyfuturefilmmakerawards.com

The Best Headshot for Success from Casting Calls to Auditions

https://www.nollycasting.com

The focus needs to stay on your face and not your clothes or accessories!

Your headshot is your marketing tool! Your headshot is not just a picture; it represents your professional image and brand. It’s a professional photo of the talent where the focus of the photograph is the person’s face.

It is utilized to identify you as well as distinguish you from the crowd. It is the first impression you make to the public before they meet you in person. Therefore, the photo must look like you and represent you well!

Be seen as a professional, not as an amateur, so the way you present yourself in your photo is very important.

You must have a good, high quality, professional headshot if you want to be taken seriously by industry professionals!

We require all talents to upload a professional headshot within 30 days from today, and if you fail to do so, we will remove your profile from our database! But don’t worry, we are here to help you!

Below, we share some tips with you on how to acquire a good headshot!

Here are some tips for a good headshot to prepare for your auditions!

1. PROFESSIONAL

Go to your local professional photographer to book your photo session! Don’t settle for a photo taken by your phone because the low quality will show! Hire a professional who will know how to capture you well in the most professional way possible. It is worth the investment!

2. SHOW YOUR ESSENCE…SMILE!

Don’t forget to smile and engage with the camera! This is the best way to showcase your personality is through the expression on your face. Ladies, please avoid wearing heavy make-up and extravagant hairstyles. Wear just enough make-up that enhances your natural beauty and hair that shows your face!

3. WARDROBE

Choose wardrobe that complements your skin tone. Bright, solid, colors are best. Avoid heavy patterns and prints as they can become distracting. We also want to see your eyes so please stay away from sunglasses and hats. Please do not use any props!

4. LIGHTING, BACKGROUND & ANGLE

Please stay away from busy, distracting backgrounds and make sure that you have great lighting — whether it is shot indoors or outdoors!

Reading in Motion: The Most Popular Screenshot from a Nigerian Motion Picture

#Fridayvibes 💕💋✌🏼️ 💞

Reading in Motion showing beautiful Nollywood starlet, international pageant beauty queen and model Celina Ideh in "Lagos in Motion: Sights and Sounds of Africa's Largest Megacity" documentary film of Ekeyerengozi Michael Chima. The screenshot of this scene has become the most popular screenshot from a Nigerian motion picture.  Screenshots or stills are important in the art of filmmaking and can be published as a photo book which I have done with "Lagos in Motion" and it is the first book of screenshots of a film or TV production in Nigeria, published and distributed by Amazon.

I have not completed the principal photography of panoramic views of Lagos City from sunrise to sunset and 🌃 nightfall.

Reading in Motion One of the most circulated film stills from a Nigerian documentary film and movie. I titled it, "Reading in Motion" showing #Nollywood actress,, Celina James reading, "Conspiracy of Lagos" by Bisi Daniels in."Lagos in Motion " I showed three beautiful young Nigerian actresses reading novels about Lagos and Nigeria. Because, any motion picture of Lagos without showing any aspect of the literary culture and literature and haute couture of the people in Africa's largest megacity is incomplete. There is no narrator and no narration in the documentary film. I simply showed Lagos and people in the people in the city in motion.

Where is the Beauty in Lagos City?

"The true beauty of a city is not defined by the buildings, but by the lives of the people living in the city.

Lagos, Africa"s largest megacity looks beautiful on postcards and travelogues, but when you visit the city and see the nauseating filthy environment, you will know how dirty are the lives of many people living in Lagos city.
Or is there any beauty in a filthy city?

What matters most in the beauty of a city is not the architecture, but the culture and nature of the people. "

author and producer of "Lagos in Motion: Sights and Sounds of Africa's Largest Megacity".

Canon’s interest in developing and recognising excellence both in amateur and professional photographers goes beyond this. The Canon Future Focus programme for students is in its fifth year and the inaugural Redline Challenge for amateur photographers received great response in entries from African region.

“We believe in enriching local creatives and welcome the opportunity to connect and support the next generation of visual storytellers. By investing expertise, technology and opportunities in them, we hope to enhance their art, skills and future careers,” said Amine Djouahra.

Is Canon Doing Anything for Women Making Movies in Nollywood?

A scene in the Nollywood blockbuster movie, "King of Boys", a political thriller by Kemi Adetiba that premièred in 2018.

Is @Canon doing anything for women making movies in #Nollywood ?

Nollywood diva, Genevieve Nnaji, director of "Lionheart".

Most of the highest grossing Nigerian movies so far have been made by women and Canon digital cameras are the most favourable cameras of filmmakers and photographers in Nigeria. But I have not seen what Canon has done in appreciation of the outstanding women making movies in Nollywood, the largest indie film industry in Africa.

I have just read the following report on "Canon Middle East launches 'Women Who Empower' programme in the Middle East.

The initiative seeks to support women by offering them Canon's direct support to build their brand and reach wider audiences.

- By Digital Studio, Middle East Staff. 09 March 2021

On International Women's Day (IWD) 2021, Canon Middle East launched its latest programme, ‘Women who Empower’, coinciding with this year’s IWD theme #ChooseToChallenge. The theme encourages women to choose to challenge gender bias and inequality and celebrate women’s achievements as well.

The year-long programme is kicking off with a social media campaign which invites women in the creative industries in the Middle East, Central and North Africa and Turkey (META) to be a part of an initiative that enables them to showcase their creative works and be given the opportunity to take their projects forward.

The Hatchet Job on "Lagos in Motion" Photo Book That Failed

The Hatchet Job That Failed

A fellow Nigerian went on Amazon Books to dismiss my photo book, "Lagos in Motion" that was selling for only US$3 and advised that  Amazon should not sell such a complete waste of money. I am sure he must have celebrated his hatchet job and waited for the book to be dropped. But the book is still on Amazon and selling for US$20 and others are selling it for more than US$32 per copy. And guess what! A book trader is selling the same book for US$404.00 (+ $ 111.39 shipping) a copy!

The intellectually ignorant Nigerian did not know why I published the photo book of selected photographs from my "Lagos in Motion" documentary film. It is to document the making of the documentary film and not to compete for the World Photography Awards or other competitions. The book is for the foreign tourists and visitors to see my positive images of Africa's largest megacity and not the usual  horrible living conditions of Makoko and other slums in Lagos state.

I was born and bred in this dynamic city that is one of the most resilient cities in the world and the dynamic economy has made Lagos the 4th largest economy in Africa.
