A Great Nation Cannot Be Built On the Foundation of Corruption

A Great Nation Cannot Be Built On the Foundation of Corruption

It is a terrible thing to be intellectually retarded and not to know that you're intellectually retarded.
A generation almost drowning in the flood of the information age of the internet with access to facts on their fingertips, but still lacking in intellectual comprehension and ratiocination.
It is tragic to act without logic.
To be ignorant is tragic.
Youths who don't read cannot lead.
They want to reap without sowing a seed
Their daily creed is based on their greed.
They live a life of fallacy and hypocrisy.
But a great nation cannot be built on the foundation of corruption.
We cannot celebrate our nationhood on the threshold of falsehood.
This is the calamity of the majority of Nigerian youths.
Only few are truly intelligent. But who can hear the words of wisdom of the wise in the tumult of fools making the loudest noise?
"Now, 75 years later in an abundant society where people have laptops, cellphones, iPods and minds like empty rooms, I still plod along with books."
~ Harper Lee, famous author of "To Kill a Mockingbird" on May 7, 2006, in a letter to Oprah Winfrey (published in O, The Oprah Magazine in July 2006).
