The Need for the Realization of a Social Security System in Nigeria is Now

The Need for the Realization of a Social Security System in Nigeria is Now

~ By Dr. John Egbeazien Oshodi

As in all African cultures including Nigeria, traditionally it is expected that working and financially stable family members will provide financial and emotional care for their school-aged children and aging parents, in addition to other relatives who are coping with sickness, disability and lack of jobs, ones who are widowed and others who are in dire need of assistance of all kinds.

The Most Dangerous Places in Lagos State

These are the worst places to raise children in Lagos.
If you cannot avoid living in these areas, don't ever leave your wives and children alone without adequate protection.
A criminal gang once trailed a young female student back to her house in the notorious Agbado area of Lagos State and seeing that she was alone, they raped her to death and then disemboweled her before escaping with her parents jeep. Then they later called her parents and boasted about how they raped and killed her for rejecting their romantic advances. The criminals were never found till date.
Impressionable and vulnerable girls are the most endangered species in these parts of Lagos the most populous state in Nigeria, Africa's most populous country.
They are the most targeted by these human predators on the prowl; roaming about the streets like hyenas in the African jungle.

There are more criminals here than even the Boko Haram terrorists in northern Nigeria. The only difference is they are not religious terrorists and have no ideologies. They are mostly abandoned children, school dropouts and unemployed frustrated youths who turn to crime and drugs in their existentialist angst.During their lucid moments, they can be mistaken for the most peaceful creatures on earth, but they can be suddenly provoked and unleash the furies of the demons of their manic-depressive disorder as antisocial miscreants, armed robbers and rapists. These hoodlums are often recruited as political thugs by the top politicians who use them for political riots or as hired killers and political assassins against their political opponents and rivals during elections. So, they can commit heinous crimes and escape from police arrest and prosecution, because of their political connections in high places in Lagos State.

Gruesome crimes have been committed by these criminal gangs that can be seen masquerading as "Area Boys" in the day, but unleash their terrors in the twilight hours armed with daggers, guns, machetes and other dangerous weapons.

There are dangerous criminal gangs of cultists and rapists in these notorious parts of Lagos and they can commit horrible crimes and disappear into the congested ghettos and suburbs of neighboring states of Ogun and Oyo and return again to commit more crimes. These places are not well policed.
Beware of unforeseen dangers and beware of strangers whenever you are in the following places in Lagos.
  • Mushin.
  • Agege
  • Alimosho
  • Ifako-Ijaye
  • Oshodi-Isolo
  • Agbado

Any Religion That Makes You Mad is Not of GOD

Any religion that makes you mad or sad is not of GOD.
Any religion that makes you harm and hurt another human is not of GOD.
For it is written:
"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God".
◄ Matthew 5:9 ►

Therefore, cursed are the troublemakers, for they are children of Satan.
From the cultists in the south to the terrorists in the north.
From the Hausa Fulani marauders and trespassers in the middle belt to the mujahideens in the Middle East.
The enemies of peace are the enemies of humankind.

The Cause of the Widespread Violence Destroying Thousands of People in Nigeria

The cause of the widespread violence destroying thousands of people in Nigeria is nothing more than disobedience to God and the rule law.
If you don't fear God, then how can you fear man?

I have written and even over written on the causes and consequences of the Nigerian crisis and the articles have been popular discussions on Nairaland, Naijarules and other websites.
You can see some of them on the following links.

Christabel Momodu, The Black Beauty Queen I Met in Lagos

I never heard of her until I came to Lagos last August and saw her photographs in the new Supple magazine and I was impressed. But when she came to say hello to the Publisher and Managing Editor, I did not pay attention to her, because I was very busy.
Then when she came around again, I had time to talk to her. Christabel is tall, dark and lovely and a beauty queen in Lagos. She understands English, French and Yoruba and some Igbo and Hausa. She has been the only female I welcome to sit and chat with me in the office and seeing her on the cover of Allure magazine of

The Vanguard newspaper in Nigeria was cool as she came yesterday looking like she just stepped out of the cover of Vogue, in long wavy black har and tight fitting black skirt. She interrupted my work, but I did not mind. I gave her my popular love book before she left and I am looking forward to seeing her again. Christabel is an epitome of beauty with dignity.
