Glitz as Fair and White Renews Agunbiade's Brand Ambassadorial Contract

Glitz as Fair and White Renews Agunbiade's Brand Ambassadorial Contract

 - By Ingram Osigwe

The ambience at Fair and White Nigeria premises, Ikoyi, Lagos was gay and electrifying on Wednesday 27th April 2022 during the contract renewal of a beauty queen, Esther Agunbiade as the brand ambassador for the Fair and White range of beauty products.

Agunbiade, a 2019 housemate of the famed Big Brother Naija TV reality show is making a rebound as an ambassador of the brand for two straight years. She was first signed on in February 2020. According to Fair and White Nigeria's Media Adviser, Chief Ingram Osigwe, "the renewal of her contract is the definitive definition of the popular saying, "one good turn deserves another".

The brand ambassador, he said,  performed exceedingly well in her first contract hence Fair and White deemed it fit to renew it.

Speaking shortly after signing the contract renewal, Agunbiade urged beauty enthusiasts and all those who want the best for their skin to switch brands and be Fair and White compliant.

Beaming with satisfaction as she displayed the brands, Agunbiade counselled that "for Fair and White to work for you, you need to first know your skin type and then go for the brand's variant that suits it. There is Fair and White for every skin. I have been able to sensitize consumers on this"

Continuing, the brand ambassador said: "Fair and White is the brand for all those who care for great skin and beauty. Fair and White is a brand that works. Just use it according to the instructions"

On his part, Osigwe who is the CEO/MD of FullPage International Communications Ltd and who anchored the event  explained that shortly after Agunbiade signed the first contract in February 2020 the covid 19 pandemic broke out and inhibited most of what she was to do for the brand but she was not deterred as she took on to social media to educate ladies on the imperativeness of using Fair and White rather than resorting to brands that damage their skin.

In his address, the General Sales manager of Fair and White Nigeria, Mr Sunny Adekoya  said the company will not relent in taking care of the beauty of African women by making sure that it gives the best of Fair and White at all times.

He recalled that the company has for over 25 years provided consumers with genuine Fair and White brands, pledging that it won't relent in this regard.

On the issue of fake Fair and White brands, Mr Adekoya  said the company now puts distinguishing features on the Fair and White range of products to mark them out from fake brands in the market.

Essentially, beyond the Fair and White Gold which she was initially signed for, Esther now has the additional mandate to promote Fair and White So- Carrot and Fair and White Glu- Tathion.

Dignitaries, including industry stakeholders present at the contract renewal signing ceremony, were Emenike Agu, A media personality, Frances Emetarom, a YouTube blogger

The American King is starring famous singer Akon alongside top Hollywood and Nollywood stars,  Andrew Howard, Nick Moran, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Rahama Sadau, Alexx Ekubo, Enyinna Nwigwe and guess who? Peter Okoye of the famous #PSquare! Other top Hollywood actors in the movie are Jennifer Wenger, Miguel A. Núñez Jr., Martin Dingle-Wall, Massi Furlan,Vanessa Giselle, Ella Kweku, Tommy Franklin, Nathin Butler,  Myles Cranford, Jasmine Hester, Jack Campbell and DaShawn Barnes.

Akon plays a troublemaking American anointed by a mysterious High Priestess to fulfill a 400-year-old prophecy to become the new King of Africa. While he and his foolishly sophomoric buddies find themselves trying to adapt to the realities of being royalty, the US Government, including the President, takes a keen interest in exploiting the situation for their own benefit. Amidst the hijinks and lessons learned about the responsibilities that comes with being a leader, the story reveals its roots from the history and lessons of the 1619 Project. Racial and gender stereotypes, American politics, and more are addressed, lampooned, and satirized with no holds barred, and with the beauty and diversity of Africa as a backdrop.

The story is loosely based on the firsthand experience of writer and director Obekpa, a prince and former heir to his father's throne when King of the Idoma nation

The Return of Ọba Kò So for Epic Yoruba Film

ill tell the one which appears plausible, adapted by historians, backed by Odu-Ifa and as told in folklores in the Yoruba religion sphere. Oranmiyan was the father of Sango, Oranmiyan the founder of Oyo kingdom and the youngest grandson of Oduduwa the progenitor married a Nupe woman who bore him Sango.

All stories about Sango are dramatic, it was said that he went in search of his father Ajagun and at a point, had to throw himself inside a burning lake to prove his lineage as Ajagun was the king of fire (this is in line with the debunked story).

Anyway, when Ajaka was Alaafin , Oyo kingdom was under incessant treat of war from Owu, Olowu was Ajaka’s cousin; who ruled Owu Kingdom. Olowu sent his warriors to capture Alaafin Ajaka and to bring him to Owu dead or alive. In their effort to rescue Alaafin Ajaka, the Oyomesi sent for Sango in the land of Nupe where Sango was living, Sango's fame was flourishing at Nupe, he was powerful, fearless and could spurt fire from his mouth. Sango was highly short tempered, he would spurt fire when angry.

Ajaka was sent on exile emanating from a vote of no confidence from the Oyomesi, Sango was made king after he rescued Oyo. He thus became the third Alaafin and ruled fearlessly.

Sango had three wives. Oya, who he loved dearly and became fond of, Sango would allow her to touch his hair which was an abomination but Oya later betrayed him by revealing his secrets of wizardry. Osun, the river goddess who was his favourite because of her cooking skills and Oba, who tried to win Sango's love by making a meal out of her ear for Sango. Sango later sent her packing resulting from a dispute between her and Osun, Oba left and out of frustration, turned into a river now called River Oba, which becomes turbulent whenever it meets with river Osun.

Sango was known to plait his hair into a style known as Suku, he designed it with red apparel and cowries (Laba and Yewu), he was known to hold double bladed axe (Ose Sango). Ram was is usual animal and still being uphold as symbolic pet of Sango by his followers, his favourite colour was red. He possessed a special sort of drum called 'Bata' and enjoyed eating bitter kolanut, porridge and yam. His followers of the glorious Yoruba Ifa religion still possess these features. They dress like Sango and could breathe fire, and are extremely pyromania.

The Latter Days Of Sango

King Sango had two warlords whose names were Gbonka and Timi, they were equally as lethal as Sango, Sango knew this and secretly planned to get rid of them.

He set the both of them up in a deadly contest with each other which later boomerang, Timi got killed and Gbonka who all of a sudden realised Sango’s hidden tactics, countered Sango and over powered him.

He banished Sango into the outskirts of Oyo. Sango was forced to desert Oyo and was said to have hanged himself at a place later called Koso. This, his disciple refuted, they claimed he only ascended to heaven to take charge of thunder and lightning. The popular saying “Obakoso or Olukoso” means King Sango did not hang.

We Made History for Nollywood

Unknown to majority of people, we made history by breaking new grounds for #Nollywood and the Nigerian film industry in the first quarter of 2022 through Vision Films Inc of California (the home state of #Hollywood). Two filmmakers from the same Benue State in the Middle Belt of Nigeria have made history with their in-depth analytical films of different genres, "The American King" by Dr. Adah Obekpa is the first Hollywood and Nollywood comedy to have theatrical release in movie theaters in the United States of America (USA) with thanks to Vision Films Inc and "Eagle Wings" by Paul Apel Papel is the first Nigerian film to have the biggest global film distribution in the history of the Nigerian film industry since the making of "Palaver", the first feature film shot in NIgeria by the Academy Award winning English filmmaker, Geoffrey Barkas in 1926.

The Glass Shatterer

 The Glass Shatterer

An original Story by Ekenyerengozi Michael Chima

He was born dumb, but his glass-breaking wail registered at 105 decibels, almost as loud as a jackhammer shattered glasses to smithereens.

What is the power behind his glass shattering voice?

Ugoma had been barren for over a decade and became the object of derision mocked by her mother in-law and scorned by her drunkard husband who often beat her at the slightest provocation whenever he was drunk. He was cheating on her by sleeping with other women to have children, but none of them got pregnant and he blamed it all on the miserable Ugoma, he and his mother called a witch.

Eventually Ugoma got pregnant in the twelfth year of their marriage and rejoiced. "HALLELUJAH!" Olu ebube Jehovah!" She exclaimed in her mother tongue of the  Igbo language that it was the wonderful miracle of Almighty God. But her husband and mother in-law and others called it a strange pregnancy. He even accused her of sleeping with another man. But Ugoma's joy became sour when she gave birth to a dumb male child. Her husband and mother in-law and mockers laughed at her and called her child, imbecile.

One stormy night, her husband returned home drunk and because she was still not done cooking what he was expecting to have for dinner, he pounced on her,  beating her mercilessly. Their son who was now almost a year old suddenly screamed as he wailed and the  deafening sound of his piercing voice shattered the glass cups, glass bottles and class windows in the entire house. His parents shaking in fear and trembling in shock as they gazed at him. He hugged his mother and glared angrily at his father who was dumbfounded.

Happy Easter of Triumph

#SundayExaltations👏💞💕💋🙌

HALLELUJAH!

Happy Easter!

HAPPY SUNDAY OF THE CELEBRATION OF THE VICTORY OF THE RESURRECTION OF OUR MESSIAH JESUS Christ!

Matthew 28

1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.

12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,

13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

14 And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.

15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
