We Will Never Forget: 10th Anniversary of September 11, 2001 Suicide Attacks

September 11, 2011, 10th Anniversary of September 11 Suicide Attacks on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.

We Will Never Forget

3,000 Candle-lights
Will you remember me on every 9/11?
Will you light a candle for me?
For without the light we cannot see
What mortal eyes have never seen.

No. Don't weep for me anymore
No. Don't pray for the dead.
For the dead do not need your prayers.

"What I had, I lost; what I saved, I spent; but what I gave, I have."
~ Mattie Terri Shackelford

We Will Never Forget
No! Never ever.
Though the scarlet memories may linger
Though the flowers may wither
But we will never forget
Until this world will be no more.

Nobody spoke a word as the credits rolled on the screen. But I could hear muffled sounds of sobs near me. Lesleen held my right hand tightly until they turned on the lights and we silently left the hall. As we entered our car and sat down, I used my fingers to wipe away her tears. The last time I wept was at the burial of my mother 14 years ago. And I made up my mind never to weep again. I comforted her for a while before I inserted the key into the ignition and jiggled the steering wheel as I turned the key to start the car. I drove out of the parking lot of Main Street Cinema with the head of LesIeen on my shoulder. I was still thinking about the closing scene of the film.

Why should the director include the 19 suicide bombers in his memorial candle lights?
And he showed us their bereaved families also mourning them. Those bastards killed
2,974 innocent people in a day and more died later from the respiratory diseases caused by exposure to WTC dust. Over 40, 000 people, including 10,000 firefighters from Fire Department of New York (FDNY) were exposed to environmental toxins at Ground Zero. And two years later, Ms. Reeve died of mesothelioma. Firefighters Stephen Johnson, Walter Voight and Joseph Costello and EMTs Timothy Keller and Felix Hernandez have died from cancers linked to respiratory diseases. And the unrepentant Al Quaeda is still thinking of repeating the catastrophe. The hijackers don't deserve any memorial. The devils are already burning in hell.
I hissed and turned back from the direction of our home.
"Where are we going?" Lesleen asked.
"To Gound Zero."
"I am tired and I want to go to bed," she said plaintively.
"There is enough time to sleep. Don't worry. I will make sure that you don't have nightmares," I said.
"How?"
"You just relax until we return home," I replied and smiled.

At Ground Zero, we were not alone. A memorial ceremony was in progress and I could count over a 100 people milling around with candlelights. We joined them and a man wearing a brown hat stepped out from the crowd and handed us two white candles.
"You have got a lighter?" The elderly man asked.
"Yes. Thank you sir," I replied.
"But, do you know the real figure of those who died?" He asked us.
"2, 993," I replied.
He shook his head.
He handed me a piece of white paper and we read what was printed on it.

CONFIRMED DEAD: 2948 •
REPORTED DEAD: 24 •
REPORTED MISSING: 24 •
TOTAL: 2996

"But we believe that 3, 000 must have died," he said.
Lesleen and I nodded.
Minus those 19 devils, I said within me.
We lit our candles and joined the procession.

N.B:

I wrote 3,000 Candlelights within an hour on this board, and all the names mentioned are real.

Lesleen is a wonderful young lady I care about who lives in New York and I appreciate her a lot.

I wrote this especially in memory of our dearly departed of 9/11.
Lest we forget, Nigerians were among those killed on that fateful day.

The poem We Will Never Forget is from my book, Scarlet Tears of London.

Clyde Broadcast Sign Major Contract With DAAR Communications at IBC 2011

AMSTERDAM, September 10, 2011/PRNewswire/ --

Further to a series of negotiations earlier this year Scottish-based Clyde Broadcast and African media giant DAAR Communications will sign a euro 1m contract for the equipping of sixteen digital radio stations throughout Nigeria, at this years IBC.

Brian Rowan, Sales Director for Clyde Broadcast: 'DAAR are one of Africa's leading independent broadcast groups, with brands such as DAARsat, AIT and RAYPOWER. We were delighted to be approached by such a prestigious organization and plans are well under way for the roll-out of over thirty studios.'

DAAR's Executive Chairman, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi: 'Clyde have an excellent track record in Nigeria. We are confident that Clyde will meet our very high standards and deliver us radio stations that will all be very proud of'.'

Sixteen of the new studios will be based around Clyde's SYNERGY Integrated Digital Broadcast Centres, with the remainder using existing digital mixers and Clyde's S-Radio software suite - a derivative of Synergy. Each station will also have newsrooms equipped with Clyde DESKMATES, providing reporters with comprehensive yet easy to use desktop audio facilities.

Tony Uyah, DAAR's Executive Engineering Director: 'Clyde's Synergy is highly suited to our needs; the key components in the studio - the playout hardware, software and mixing - are all remotely accessible, ideal for support, in fact Synergy can be considered as an IP-addressable radio studio - even the studio change-over can be remotely controlled!'

The station routing system is based around Clyde's new STATION HUB, which forms the technical centre of each system, and allows easy connection to studios and workstations via standard CAT5 cables - considerably simplifying installation, easing maintenance and readily facilitating expansion.

Clyde's MD, Phil Collins: 'It is fitting that such a contract be sealed at IBC, and particularly on the booth of Scottish Development International, who are exhibiting at IBC for the first time, show-casing some of Scotland's best technology companies'.

Juventus Inaugurates its New Stadium

Juventus Inaugurates its New Stadium

Boasting 41.000 seats and the highest quality standards, the Juventus Stadium is the premier, club-owned facility in Italy

The opening ceremony was created by Olympic Ceremony producer, Marco Balich

TURIN, Italy, September 9, 2011/PRNewswire /— Juventus inaugurated this evening its new stadium, the premier club-owned facility in Italy.

"I am proud", said Juventus President Andrea Agnelli, "that Juventus finally has its own home. For us it is an historic moment. In addition to its sentimental value, the new stadium is actually an investment that allows us to bring Juventus to the level of the top clubs in Europe. In addition, being close to the playing field, the fans can participate and let their team hear all their support."

Some of the best-known Black and Whites of all time, including Giampiero Boniperti, Dino Zoff, Alessandro Del Piero and Gianluigi Buffon, participated in the show, which, took the Juventus values of tradition, innovation and style, and created from them moments where the fans were also involved.

The top-class ceremony, was designed by Marco Balich, President of K-events/Filmmaster Group (www.kevents.it) and one of the greatest creators of international events. "I am very proud", said Marco Balich, "of having had the assignment from Juventus to create such an important event in the history of football and to be back in the city of Turin, where I was a commentator at the Olympic ceremonies in 2006. The show was made possible by the collaboration of leading industry professionals worldwide and with the support of 800 volunteers."

The volunteers were directed by Bryn Walters, one of the leading world experts in mass choreography for large events and ceremonies. Preparation for the show required a total of 150 hours of trials. Particularly thrilling was the final choreography, using over 420 performers dressed in LED costumes and involving the public, descending from the stands and giving life to the great final words on the field: "Welcome Home".

After the ceremony, Juventus played a friendly match with Notts County, the Nottingham team from which the black and white jerseys of Juventus came in the early twentieth century.

THE NEW STADIUM - The idea for the new facility originated in 1996 and construction was completed between the summers of 2009 and 2011. It has excellent visibility (the farthest row is just 7.5 meters from the field) and high quality standards in security and services, both for the standard seats and for the Premium Club. The latter, which includes about 4000 seats and offers exclusive high level services, can be used by companies for public relations activities during matches and also during the week.

Built in the area that housed the Delle Alpi, where Juventus played from 1990 to 2006, the new stadium has a capacity of 41,000 seats and covers, with the external areas, an area about 360,000 m2, which also includes the impressive shopping mall “Area 12”, the Museum (which will open next spring), 30,000 square meters of green areas and about 4000 parking places.

The investment, which amounts to about 122 million, endows the company with an important business asset. The stadium compares favourably with the best at a continental level and is, in fact, essential for increasing revenues. With the new stadium, the company aims to achieve a more balanced revenue stream enabling it to compete with leading European clubs.

OHCHR press briefing note / Nigeria

OHCHR press briefing note / Nigeria

GENEVA, September 9, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- OHCHR press briefing note / Nigeria

We are concerned about the renewed violence which has flared up in Nigeria's "Middle Belt" in recent weeks causing death, injury and destruction. Reports suggest that up to 70 people have been killed since the beginning of August, in ethnic and religious violence in the area.

Ethnic and religious divisions have affected the Middle Belt region, particularly in and around Jos, for many years now and a cycle of violence has emerged in which each incident almost invariably provokes deadly reprisal attacks. The High Commissioner has previously called for a concerted effort to tackle the underlying causes of such repeated violent outbreaks. Such underlying causes include discrimination, poverty and land disputes.

We encourage the authorities at national and local levels to take effective preventative measures against such violence, including by curbing hate-speech and working with civil society, including human rights NGOs, religious leaders and academic institutions, to attempt reconciliation between the various communities. It is of utmost importance that justice is done and is seen to be done by prosecuting the alleged perpetrators of violence and ensuring remedies for victims and their families.

We are also concerned about the activities of Boko Haram, whose tactics have included attacks on civilians, security forces and government institutions. The group has claimed responsibility for the recent bombing of the UN building – yet another deadly and cowardly attack.

otherwise they risk making the situation worse.

In response to a request for details of recent violence and killings:

According to reports:

- From early to mid-August, 10 people were killed in a number of clashes between Christian and Muslim youths and the military in Jos. At least two more were hacked to death, and four others seriously wounded in a village near Jos.

- On 29 August, Christian youths allegedly attacked Muslims going to prayer in Jos. Unofficial reports suggest that 13 were killed, 106 wounded and that a lot of damage was done to property. Then, on 1 September, at least 23 were reportedly killed in clashes between Christian and Muslim youths. At this point, it is not clear whether or not this was a revenge attack linked to the earlier incident.

- On 4 September, a family of eight was hacked to death, and seven more people were reported killed that evening in attacks by youths on a village near Jos.

China and Nigeria Lead Others in PC Software Piracy

China and Nigeria lead others in software piracy according to a Business Software Alliance (BSA) study.

The other major regular software pirates come from Vietnam, Ukraine, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Mexico.

Nearly Half of the World's PC Users Acquire Software Illegally Most or All the Time, BSA Reports

PR Newswire

WASHINGTON, Sept. 7, 2011

32-country study finds opportunity for education, enforcement

WASHINGTON, Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Nearly half of the world's personal computer users — 47 percent — acquire software through illegal means most or all of the time, and in developing economies the figures are much higher, according to the most extensive survey ever undertaken on PC users' behaviors and attitudes toward software piracy and intellectual property rights.

The Business Software Alliance (BSA) today released detailed findings from the groundbreaking study on its official blog, BSA TechPost. Ipsos Public Affairs conducted the research for BSA by surveying approximately 15,000 PC users in 32 countries. This included 400 to 500 in-person or online interviews per country.

The study finds that large majorities of computer users in the developing world regularly acquire software through illegal means — such as buying a single license for a program and then installing it on multiple machines, or downloading programs from peer-to-peer networks — even though they express support for intellectual property principles.

China had a higher percentage of these regular software pirates among its PC-using population than any other country surveyed, followed by Nigeria, Vietnam, Ukraine, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Mexico.

The study finds that significant majorities of software pirates in developing markets incorrectly believe that typically illegal means of acquiring software are, in fact, legal. At the same time, they believe software piracy is common, and they think it is unlikely that software pirates will be caught.

Critically, business decision-makers around the world exhibit behaviors and opinions that are similar to those of other computer users.

"It took hundreds of millions of thieves to steal $59 billion worth of software last year. Now we have a better understanding of what they were thinking," said BSA President and CEO Robert Holleyman. "The evidence is clear: The way to lower software piracy is by educating businesses and individuals about what is legal — and ramping up enforcement of intellectual property laws to send clearer deterrent signals to the marketplace."

President Barack Obama Has Balls, But Nigerian Presidents Have None

"We will make BP pay for the damage their company has caused," Obama said in an 18-minute speech. "And we will do whatever necessary to help the Gulf Coast and its people recover from this tragedy." President Barack Obama said authoritatively.

I have only one simple illustration from a book to show that the brave President Barack Obama of the United States of America has balls, but Nigerian Presidents have none in addressing emergencies.

The failure of the Nigerian government to check the excesses of Chevron, Shell and other oil companies have made them to disregard their rules of engagement, because these oil companies spill more oil into the Niger Delta each year than was spilled as a result of the Deepwater Horizon disaster that devastated the Gulf of Mexico in 2010. President Barack Obama did not waste time to address the emergency and compelled the BP to pay.

"We will make BP pay for the damage their company has caused," Obama said in an 18-minute speech. "And we will do whatever necessary to help the Gulf Coast and its people recover from this tragedy." President Barack Obama said authoritatively.

BP set up a $20bn compensation fund after the Deepwater Horizon disaster and has so far paid out 19,000 claims totalling more than $240m and BP's bill for containing and cleaning up the oil spill has reached nearly $10bn (£6.4bn).

President Obama did not need to commission the United Nations Environment Protection (UNEP) and did not pay for any assessment or disaster management report before compelling BP to pay for the catastrophic Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

"The oil industry has been a key sector of the Nigerian economy for over 50 years, but many Nigerians have paid a high price, as this assessment underlines," said Achim Steiner, U.N. under-secretary general and the executive director of the U.N. Environment Program, which carried out the report.

Yet, our inept and incompetent government failed to prosecute the indicted Royal Dutch Shell PLC, Chevron and other

multinational oil companies to pay for the collateral damages they have been doing in the Niger Delta for decades.

The failures of the government and the impunity of the multinational oil companies provoked the rise of insurgency in the Niger Delta.

4 Most Shocking Facts on Dirty Habits in Nigeria

Market women and their children prepare a meal at their slum settlement in Lagos, Nigeria June 10, 2006. The world's growing number of poor slum dwellers is a ticking time bomb that governments dare not ignore, the United Nations said on Friday. (George Esiri/Reuters)

4 Most Shocking Facts on Dirty Habits in Nigeria

1. 33 million Nigerians defecate in the open depositing 1.7 million tonnes of
fæces in the environment annually.

2. 20% of Nigerians expect to be consoled for farting or belching without apologies.

3. 90% of Nigerian food vendors and cooks handle food immediately after blowing their noses.

4. 90% of Nigerians don’t wash their hands after urinating by the roadside.

People defecating in the open in Nigeria

The unhygienic ways of life in Nigeria have made life expectancy to drop below 48 years and may continue to drop until majority of Nigerians stop their unhygienic lifestyles. And the government should sack the stupid Minister of Health who said, “Dying is global. Perhaps is the turn of Nigerians to be dying young. Dust to dust, ashes to ashes.”
The minister is just another Nigerian dumb-ass who is worsening the incompetence of public service in Nigeria.
