The Insensitivity of President Muhammadu Buhari and First Lady Aisha Buhari

The Insensitivity of President Muhammadu Buhari and First Lady Aisha Buhari

It is heartbreaking to hear that some of the 156 abducted girls of the Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School, Tegina in the Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State have died in the den of the bandits since they were kidnapped on May 30, 2021. The girls, including some as young as 5 years old spent the Eid- el-Kabir festival in the den of their abductors.

Since January, there have been over 111 tragic incidents of kidnappings with more than 1, 520 people killed in different states in Nigeria, with the worst cases in Zamfara, Borno, Kaduna and Katsina, the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari. But it is really shocking that while these horrifying incidents of kidnappings and killings have been increasiing, President Buhari and his wife, Mrs. Aisha Buhari who pretends to be humane were busy pampering their own children in their safe havens in Nigeria, the UK and Dubai when the parents of the abducted children have been harrowing in sorrow over their missing children and others mourning the tragic loss of the precious lives of their sons and daughters in the hands of the evil and wicked bandits and terrorists. The mother of one of the kidnapped children of the Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School collapsed and died from heartbreak.

In the gloomy atmosphere of insecurity in the country, President Buhari and his wife were using the wedding of the arranged marriage of their son, Yusuf Buhari and Princess Zahra Ado Bayero, the daughter of the Emir of Bichi in Kano State for boosting their public relations and distractions of gullible Nigerians from the terrifying occurrences of kidnappings and killings in the Middle Belt and northern Nigeria. And at the same time, there was a big ceremony televised live for the draws of the innaugural Dr. Aisha Buhari Cup's Invitational Women’s Football Tournament for selected countries in Africa, that will be hosted by Lagos from 13th – 21st September 2021.  Simply, an image laundering event for the promotion of her public relations.

The millions of dollars spent on the glamorous state wedding attended by Nigerian millionaires and billionaires who flew on dozens of private jets to Kano would have been more than enough to pay the ransoms to free the hundreds of unfortunate underprivileged children suffering and dying in the dens of bandits. But the insensitive President Buhari and his wife Aisha and their fellow egocentric elites of the greedy ruling class don't care, because none of their precious children has been kidnapped or murdered by bandits and terrorists on rampage in Nigeria.

The insecurity in Nigeria is caused by corrupt and incompetent government administraton and not by poverty.

President Buhari is Not As Competent and Efficient As Former President Obasanjo

Chief Olúṣẹ́gun Ọbásanjọ́ , GCFR remains the best and greatest Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces of all the Heads of State in the history of Nigeria. Nigerians were safer under his military administration from 1976-1979 and under his civilian administration from 1999-2007. The failures of his successors in national security have been caused by administrative incompetence and political corruption since 2007 to date.

As the former Presidents Umaru Yar'Adua and Goodluck Jonathan failed in the national security of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has also failed woefully in national security.

Do you know that hundreds of thousands of the millions of Hausa Fulani people in Nigeria are from Mali and the Republic of Niger and not bona fide citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The most dangerous reality is, majority of them have access to arms that majority of Nigerians don't have. And President Buhari has failed to disarm them.
The military can disarm them within 100 days and end the widespread violent attacks by their  fellow Hausa Fulani bandits, terrorists and unknown gunmen. The so called gunmen killing people can be called "Unknown Soldiers" whose identities are well known by the Nigerian military and security intelligence agencies.

Former President Ọbásanjọ́ was not a saint, but he was a very competent and efficient President and Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces .President Buhari has failed to prove that he is a competent and efficient Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces. And unfortunately, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo does not have the calibre of a leader of political pragmatism for the fearless political leadership of Nigeria to secure the future of Nigerians in the most populous country in Africa.

Our Daughters Are Like Herds Of Sheep Without Shepherds

Our Daughters Are Like Herds Of Sheep Without Shepherds

They are like herds of sheep without shepherds.

Our churches have failed to guide and guard them.
Our Mosques have failed to guide and guide them
Their fathers and mothers have also failed to be their role models.

See the.birthday parties of these impressionable and vulnerable teenage girls, they play and dance to psychedelic songs about romantic and erotic pleaures in the presence of their parents who claim to be Christian or Muslim families.
I have left one of such dirty parties by a family fellowshipping with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Surulere. The parents ignored my call to stop playing pyschedelic songs of Davido and Wizkid to their teenage sons and daughters.
Their principals and teachers play the same songs at the school parties.

Many years ago when I was mentoring a young woman and never touched her and she told her father, he laughed at me and asked if I was impotent. And many parents are like that.
We have seen young daughters of poor parents are pimped to Rich older men. And life goes on.
They said "Mind your business!"
Yes. It is my business when anyone in my community is showing misguided lifestyle to others in the community. It becomes our business when little girls are raped by men and some gruesomely raped to death and dumped on.the streets and horrifying deeds terrify us with headlines of the news.
If you want to help a poor girl, you can sponsor her education without making her your fifth wife or girlfriend and making her a mother when her mates are in the university.

Many years ago, I had a dream of Rev. Chris Okotie leading a group of male secondary school students on the Marina by the General Post Office and I wrote him a letter about it that Almighty God has called him to be a leader of the youths in Nigeria. But he ignored me. That was before Yahoo-Yahoo and GSM came out in the country.
Then in 1988 as a young national Program Consultant for the UNICEF Nigeria, I submitted a project for Nomadic Education for herders and their children, but it was ignored. Now, the chickens have come to roost.
A stitch in time saves nine.
Prevention is better than cure.
There is no smoke without fire.

I know why since 2013, I have organized the Nigerian premiere.of "Girl Rising" to celebrate the United Nations' International Day of the Girl Child for the first time in Nigeria at the Silverbird Cinemas in the Solverbird Galleria on Victoria Island and also organized another one with the Nigerian premiere.of "HE NAMED MALALA" in 2015 at the same Silverbird Cinemas on Victoria Island, Lagos. Followed by the Nigerian premiere of "In the Name of Your Daughter" in 2019, for the promotion of girl education and public enlightenment on the dangers of the deprivation of.the education of the millions of underprivileged girls out of school in Nigeria. Because, we must secure the future of the mothers of our nation. But have you noticed that, no one else organized it in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018 when I did not organize it?
Meaning?
None of the secondary schools, NGOs, Federal Ministry of Education and state governments cared about doing so.
The biracial wife of a retired general in the Nigerian Army queried me that if every girl goes to school, where will they get the housemaids for their households? Because the underprivileged children of the poor are the regular supply of housemaids and houseboys used for the chores and errands in the households of the middle class and upper class Nigerians, including the public officials.
That is why they lured hundreds of the poor with N1, 000 per person to join the Pro Buhari supporters against the June 12 protests yesterday in Abuja, while they kept their privileged sons and daughters far away from the chaos caused by the political crisis in Nigeria since 1999 to date.
The bandits, hoodlums and terrorists on rampage are the underprivileged children of the poor who never went to school decades ago.
The chickens have come home to roost.
The worst is yet to come if we fail  to do what is best and right for Nigeria.

Cat Arrested for Terrorism By Nigerian Soldiers

Nigerian Soldiers, Secret Police 'Arrested' Cat They Believed Sunday Igboho Turned To During Invasion Of His House —Eyewitnesses

Some of those working with Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho, have narrated how gunmen in military uniform allegedly attacked the residence of the Yoruba rights activist.

SaharaReporters had reported how Ighoho’s house in the Soka area of Ibadan, Oyo state was attacked around 1am on Thursday.

At least 10 vehicles belonging to the self-styled activist, including his G-wagon, Prado SUVs, and valuable properties, furniture, and windows were destroyed.

Bullet holes were also found on the buildings in the compound while bloodstains were seen on the premises by our correspondent.

Speaking to SaharaReporters, an aide to the Ighoho who said he witnessed the incident said the attackers took away jewellery and a huge amount of cash belonging to the Yoruba activist and his family.

“Around 1am, we started hearing gunshots, there was pandemonium everywhere. Then we saw soldiers, they were dressed as if they were going for a battle. Before we knew what was happening, they started targeting places where people sleep in the house.

It was God that saved me and others, they came prepared. Only God knows how they identified Igboho’s room, they went there, took his money and jewellery. Same as that of his wife and other family members.

“They even took away his cat when they didn’t see him. They claimed it might be Ighoho that turned to the cat, so they took it away.

The North is the Problem of Nigeria

When they say Nigeria is poor and underdeveloped, northern Nigeria is actually the basis for this conclusion from the demographics of the country.

All the indices of the deficits in sustainable human development in Nigeria used for the analysis of poverty and underdevelopment are more pronounced in the northern region of the most populous country in Africa.

The collapse of security in northern Nigeria is beyond the economics and politics of the North-South Dichotomy.  The northern region is the problem of Nigeria.

The north has the largest population of illiterates.

The largest population of poor people.

The largest population of underprivileged children out of school.

The largest population of criminals, including the bandits and terrorists who have been terrorising people for decades.

The largest population of the most intolerant fanatics of the Islamic religion; the breeding ground of Islamic terrorism.

The chickens have come home to roost in northern Nigeria; the consequences of decades of maladministration of governance by corrupt and incompetent public administrators from the local government to the state government.

The political elites of the ruling class and political opportunists of different social backgrounds have misruled their people and exploited the intellectual ignorance of the most underprivileged and deprived masses since the independence of Nigeria on October 1, 1960.

The northern bourgeoisie cannot escape from the wages of their sins.

Unfortunately for the north,  the worst is yet to come in every state and the Caliphate will not be spared. Because the home of the Caliphate, Sokoto State is also the home of the poorest people in Nigeria and poverty is the hotbed of crimes of indignation and rebellion.

Remember the Brave Heroes of the War on Terror

Brave Heroes of the War on Terror

Bravery

6 May 17, I was privileged to fly on the last chopper that brought back the released Chibok girls. Seeing the girls - young, naive BUT broken, was a reminder of how cruel man is. When we touched down, I stayed with them briefly in the C-130 before the Abuja lap.

Military medics began basic checks, deworming them and tending their wounds. There was one particular girl who had lost a leg. She said the Air Force had hit BHT positions & during the strike she lost a leg. I stared at her, wishing it was a dream.

Sitting beside her was another girl - the bravest girl I ever met. For the purpose of this thread, let us call her 'N'. N kept a daily journal of what happened everyday at the BH camp. I snapped as many pages as I could. The girls attested that she was the leader of the pack.
Right under Boko Haram's nose, every night, after the terrorists had ordered them for 'lights out', she would organise the girls for prayers & morning devotion the next day. I found myself smiling sheepishly at this. This is faith. This is bravery.
When the medics were done & we were notified that the C-130 would depart for Abuja, N made a signal & all the girls sat up, crossed their legs & bend their heads. N led them in prayers. I would later learn that this was their routine when there was danger or the bombs dropped.
As the C-130 ascended to Abuja to hand them to Mr President, I looked. A pilot who had flown the chopper was sitting on the tarmac, red-eyed.

It took a soldier to talk us to leaving the tarmac that day. We were just heaving like bereaved men.
'Sarkin Yakin Damboa'

The people of Damboa called him Sarkin Yaki (King of War). But Captain MM Hassan was much more. BHT dreaded him to the extent that Shekau placed a 10 million Naira bounty on him.

Hassan was tough as a nail. 2 years after his death in 2018, I met a corporal in Gwoza, who drove him for most of his operations. The soldier was smiling all through & he said something that touched me.
'Sarki dey smile everytime. E talk say nothing worth person cry'.

He said MM Hassan was the toughest officer he ever knew.

"I happy say I pass through that Oga."

He told me of an incident where Hassan fought through an ambush to rescue him. After then, he never thought Hassan was human until 5 Janary 2018.
On 5 January 2018, MM Hassan died from a detonated grenade in the midst of gunfight with terrorists. May his soul continue to rest in peace.
'041116: My Longest Day Ever'

I remember how excited I was to see Lt Col Abu Ali the first time. He was a Major then. Stories of him sounded like folklore, like war stories brought to life. People talked of his sheer brilliance & sacrifice for his men

So, the first day I met him he actually came from Mallam Fatori to Maiduguri to collect supplies for his unit. Sounds strange. A Major? Coming to the city to take supplies for soldiers? This is not typical of senior officers. It is one task they would delegate.
I was also surprised by his frame. Man was lanky and very quiet. But you saw the fight in him. He embodies the military song, 'Small body, Big Mind'. He didn't talk much.

When he was leaving, after a brief discussion, he breathed, 'We will win'.
In 2015, BHT carried out one of its bloodiest attacks in Baga, killing numbers so much that it was covered up till today. As far as the battlefield is concerned, we would always credit Abu Ali for taking that town back.

I woke up to a text on 5 November that the officer was killed in a dawn attack on Mallam Fatori. This was 2 weeks after I encountered him. His men eventually beat back Boko Haram but his death still cuts deep.

During his procession, I saw generals cried. The COAS wept. His death rocked the Presidency. He defined patriotism.

May his soul continue to rest in peace. Amen.

'In your words, we will win'.

Eyes from Above

I was in Rann in 2016, before the mishap on the IDPs. The Armed Forces maintain strategic outposts to protect the interest of the country. The one in Rann is one of such.

Cut off from the country and so close to Cameroon, Rann is a flat land. You could see as your eyes would let you. A company of soldiers stay there, mainly as a buffer.
When I got there, I confessed my fear that it was easy for BHT to overrun us. The CO swore that BHT had never succeeded & would never succeed because of one reason.

'The Airforce. We get eyes for up o.'

He talked about how Alpha Jets took out 8 guntrucks in April 2015 when BHT tried attacking them.

"Boko Haram will prefer to see 100 AA guns than to see one of those jets. Anytime I see the jets, I know I am sleeping well that night.'
That night, I rekindled my love for tea. I was given lemongrass tea. Damn! I stayed awake all night. When my watch shone 1145pm, I remember the CO pointing to the skies to a distant Beechcraft plane.

"My sleep will be long today'.
Khaki Angels

One set of soldiers I admire are the medics. Highly trained, thoroughly professional, these folks work in your regular city & hardest of grounds.

The Air Force established hospitals for IDPs in frontline communities of Dalori & Bama. Over 100k patients are attended to on these facilities.
In 2018, I witnessed miracle in Dalori. An Air Force ophthalmologist performed 132 pterygium in a day. One of the women, Iya Kaka, wept when she was discharged days after. It was the first time she would see after 12 years. She couldn't stop praying for the Chief of Air Staff.

As we celebrate this year's Armed Forces Remembrance Day, I pray for the safety of all military personnel as they carry on gallantly, doing this job - the most difficult job in the world. God bless you.”

"The Milkmaid” is Nigeria’s official Submission for the Best International Feature Film Category of 93rd Academy Awards

"The Milkmaid” is Nigeria’s official submission for the 93rd Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category of the #Oscars.

SYNOPSIS

In rural sub-Saharan Africa, Aisha, a Fulani milkmaid, is searching for her younger sister, Zainab. Dire personal circumstances force her to approach the religious militants who were responsible for their separation in the first instance, but she is determined to find her despite the compromises she must make to do so. However, her quest to recapture her blithe past proves to be unexpectedly complicated in a world whose festering conflict provides several paths to becoming a victim with typically irreversible consequences.

The story juxtaposes the colour and elegance of rural Hausa/Fulani culture against a graphic and visceral portrayal of the harrowing ordeal of conflict victims and the personal and societal implications of the resulting psychological trauma. The film draws attention to the present plight of real-life victims of militant insurgency in Nigeria (internally displaced persons, IDPs), to generate support for their economic & psychological rehabilitation and social re-integration.

We also seek to contribute to the ongoing discourse on the threats posed by extremism.

Prof. Wole Soyinka's Most Anticipated New Novel, "Chronicles of the Happiest People on Earth"

WeREAD💕💋 NEW BOOK OF THE MONTH

"Chronicles of the Happiest People on Earth" by Prof. Wole Soyinka, the first black winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature.

https://bookshop.org/shop/Weread

The Book

The novel tells the story of a pact and an alliance formed between four friends, to make an impactful change in their nation. Now in the late stages of adulthood, against an evolving political landscape and a change of government, they drift apart, reunite, navigate complex familial relationships, and increasingly gain recognition in their professions — all the while, their paths interweave with those of prominent religious, community and government leaders, and the tide begins to turn against them, with dire consequences.

It is a dramatic and engaging read, laced with humour and extraordinary characters. The read also provides a realistic perspective on the state of affairs in Nigeria, with a depth of commentary. In Soyinka’s expert hands, the apparently disparate strands are woven together with a master story-teller’s aplomb.

CHRONICLES OF THE HAPPIEST PEOPLE ON EARTH, is a great and unputdownable read from start to finish.

Nigerian Joint Military Task Force in random killing in Maiduguri

25 Jul 2011 16:18 Africa/Lagos

Nigeria security forces in random killing following bomb blast

LONDON, July 25, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- The Nigerian authorities must immediately put a stop to unlawful killings by security forces, Amnesty International said today after at least 23 people were killed by police following a bomb blast on Saturday in the north-eastern city of Maiduguri.

The bomb, allegedly set off by the Islamist group Boko Haram, went off in the Budum market in central Maiduguri and injured three soldiers. According to reports received by Amnesty International, the Nigerian Joint Military Task Force (JTF) responded by shooting and killing a number of people, apparently at random, before burning down the market.

“President Goodluck Jonathan must get a grip on the Nigerian armed forces and immediately prevent them from carrying out further human rights violations and unlawful killings,” said Tawanda Hondora, Amnesty International's Deputy Director for Africa.

“The government must now investigate these heinous crimes and put on trial those found to be responsible for the killings. Allowing troops to go on the rampage will not bring to justice those who carry out these terrible bomb attacks on civilians,” he said.

“While staying within the law, the government must step up efforts to bring to justice members of Boko Haram who wreck untold suffering on people in the middle belt.”

One wing of Boko Haram has reportedly disowned the bomb blast, saying it may have been carried out by a splinter group.

The JTF was set up by the federal government in June 2011 to restore order in Borno state. In recent months, Amnesty International has received numerous reports that security forces in Borno state have resorted to unlawful killings, dragnet arrests, arbitrary and unlawful detentions, extortion, and intimidation.

One human rights defender told Amnesty International “Soldiers went on the rampage. They shot several people and burned all their shops and properties and burned their cars.”

Following a bombing in Maiduguri two weeks ago, members of the JTF reportedly threatened to shoot residents if they failed to report planned attacks.

“House to house searches, brutalisation, unlawful arrests, killings and disappearances have been the operating practice in Maiduguri for some months now. Unless steps are taken to ensure security forces operate within the law and respect human rights at all times, the next time Boko Haram attacks or kills a soldier, we are likely to see the same thing happen again,” said Tawanda Hondora.

Thousands of people living in Maiduguri have already left the city; and many more continue to do so.

The JTF have also been accused of raping women during their operations in recent months.

“Allegations of rape of women by members of the JTF have to be investigated and perpetrators brought to justice, “Tawanda Hondora said.

“Survivors of rape and sexual violence must be provided with appropriate support and aftercare,” he added.

Since July 2010, attacks by people believed to be members of the religious sect Boko Haram have increased. More than 250 people have been killed in such attacks, many of which have targeted police officers and government officials.

Several religious leaders have been killed and churches have also been targeted.

Since June 2011, Boko Haram has also attacked bars and beer-gardens, killing scores of people.

Breaking News: Wanted People, Boko Haram Declares

Breaking News

Wanted People, Boko Haram Declares

On 05 June, the radical terrorist sect Boko Haram has declared the following people wanted in a statement reportedly dropped at various media houses by unknown persons yesterday.

Jima?atu Ahlus-Sunnah Lidda? Awati Wal Jihad translates roughly to ‘’People Commited to the Prophet’s Teachings for Propagation and Jihad is said to have considered the following people as police informants and enemies to their mission.

In a statement written in Hausa and Arabic reads in part: ‘’All praises go to the Almighty Allah, peace and blessings be upon Prophet Mohammed, the last of the Prophets.’’

The police informants and enemies said to be: Taju Yusuf, Pastor Emmanuel, Hon. Kazeem Konitan, Mallam Abubakar Usman, Imam Moshood, Bishop Moses, Pastor Sunday I. Peters and Bashiru Ahmed as well as corrupt politicians and police officers across the country.

It was re-called back last year September when the sect attempted Jail break in Bauchi, police recovered some provocative handbills being distributed by the sect where the names of these mentioned people are also listed.

‘’We will continue to fight to revenge the death of our leader and to achieve our mission, ensuring that all our enemies are eradicated Boko Haram said.

Thus far, existing Muslim-Christian tentions in Nigeria have had a destabilizing effect on the Nigerian state far outweighing by Boko Haram’s terrorist attacks. While these sectarian tensions simmer, all Boko Haram needs to do is to continue fuelling the fire with terror attacks against state institutions, government officials, and churches until the group becomes closer to achieving one of its more insidious objectives-launching Nigeria into a full-scale war according to terrorism monitor.

The end of Osama Bin Laden

Nobody expected the breaking news of the death of the most dreaded Islamic terrorist Osama bin Laden announced by U.S. President Barack Obama after American Navy Seals shot and killed him in a compound in Abbotabad, a town of about 60 miles from the Pakistani capital Islamabad on Sunday.

Osama bin Laden

But the end of Osama bin Laden does not mean the end of the Al Qaeda or the end of Islamic terrorism.

Osama bin Laden Can Attack the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria

Monday morning in Lagos, the US warned of possible attacks on embassies in Nigeria. The red alert sent the Nigerian Armed Forces to the streets of Lagos and other major cities and towns in Nigeria, during the rush hours of Monday morning, but the Nigerian soldiers and mobile police officers soon returned to their normal duty posts before sunset.

It was the CNN that reported Sunday night that the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria had received threats of a possible attack on diplomatic missions in Lagos.

"As a result of this information, Nigerian police have heightened their vigilance along Walter Carrington Crescent and are monitoring traffic more closely," the CNN quoted the U.S. Consulate General. Then the embassy warned U.S. citizens in the capital Abuja, and Lagos, to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings in Africa's largest crude oil producer, and fifth largest exporter to the United States.

Osama bin Laden once mentioned Nigeria as one of the targets of his terrorist organization al-Qaeda.

The U.S.Consulate in Lagos is a sitting duck target for terrorists, because of the location near the Atlantic ocean and the lack of enough security. A refuse disposal truck could be used by dare-devil terrorists to attack the consulate from less than 100 meters. So Osama bin Laden can attack US targets in Nigeria as the al-Qaeda did in Kenya and Sudan.
