Fair and White Unveils Jackie B as Brand Ambassador for Nigeria

Thursday, November 4, 2021 wi remain indelible in the minds of many beauty enthusiasts. It was indeed Thursday to remember.

The ambience was gay. It exuded glamour and panache laced with glitz. The atmosphere spelt funfair.

Venue was Reserve Resturant, Karimu Ikotun, Victoria Island, Lagos and the gathering was at the instance of commodity conglomerate, Bozac Continental Ltd which was unveiling Jackie Lureino Bent, popular as Jackie B, as the latest brand  Ambassador of Fair and White range of beauty product.

Before Jackie, delectable Esther Agunbiade and Toke Makinwa have represented the brand as Ambassadors.

Esther was the Brand Ambassador for the Gold range while Makinwa represented the So White & So Carrot Ranges.

The Bozac group holds the sole franchise for Fair and White brand in Nigeria.

A unisex international beauty brand, the Fair and White variants, are made  in France for people of colour by Labo Derma France.

The new brand Ambassador who is Senator Grace Bent's daughter, was a housemate in the 2021 Big Brother Naija reality show.

It was indeed an "A" rated event because it again afforded the Bozac group the opportunity to celebrate natural African beauty.

On hand to ensure a successful outing were Bozac's senior managers led by the son of the president of the group who is also a Director in the company, Kene Chibueze.

Mr Chibueze held fort for his father and he gave a good account of himself in that regard.

In his brief remark, he stressed that Bozac group has always promoted and will continue to promote African beauty.

Its believe in African beauty, he disclosed, accounted for the reason Bozac opted for Jackie B, a ravishing African beauty, as the new face of a variant of the brand,  Fair and White Gold which was launched in 2014.

According to Chibueze, "other products have tried to look like Fair and White Gold but of course, if it is not Fair and White, it cannot be like Fair and White. Our brand is distinctive, it is on a class of its own"

The Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of Fullpage Communications Ltd Ingram Osigwe who also doubles as Media Adviser to Bozac dazzled all with his superlative performance as compere for the event.

He on his part equally assured the public that scintilating advert strategies that will take the brand to its desired target audiences are in the offing.

Jackie B came with Mr Amadi Victor Obisike, owner of the Agency that handles her PR and her Personal Assistant, Chukwulobe Favour.

Looking queenly in her dress, Jackie B appended her signature to the endorsed deal amidst applause and clinging of glasses.

Bozac's team at the signing ceremony included the group's legal Adviser, Barrister Gabriel Airewele, Kene Chibueze
Director, Oluwatoyin Ogunbowale
Human Resources Consultant, Sunday Adekoya , Sales Manager,
Prince  Emma Okon
Assistant  Sales Manager, Onyebuchi Oformata,

Sales representative,Ijeoma Ezenma, Sales representative, Modupe Adebimpe, Brand representative and Olaitan Adegun, Warehouse manager.

Evidently elated Jackie B revealed that a day after she left the BBNaija house, many companies made endorsement offers to her but she opted for Fair and White because she considered it a legacy brand, a brand that sticks to what it represents.

Being of Northern Nigerian extraction, the new brand ambassador pledged to take Fair and White to the nooks and crannies of the region and help open the frontier of northern market for it.

Her mother, Senator Grace Bent, she said, was happy with her decision to endorse the brand.
At the event were also Mercy Ikoro,
Deputy Business Manager
The Sun Publishing Ltd, Onyekachi Evelyn
CEO , Switkaybedding, Mogbogu Chinyere,
Complete Bridals  among other important dignitaries.

Reading in Motion: The Most Popular Screenshot from a Nigerian Motion Picture

#Fridayvibes 💕💋✌🏼️ 💞

Reading in Motion showing beautiful Nollywood starlet, international pageant beauty queen and model Celina Ideh in "Lagos in Motion: Sights and Sounds of Africa's Largest Megacity" documentary film of Ekeyerengozi Michael Chima. The screenshot of this scene has become the most popular screenshot from a Nigerian motion picture.  Screenshots or stills are important in the art of filmmaking and can be published as a photo book which I have done with "Lagos in Motion" and it is the first book of screenshots of a film or TV production in Nigeria, published and distributed by Amazon.

I have not completed the principal photography of panoramic views of Lagos City from sunrise to sunset and 🌃 nightfall.

Reading in Motion One of the most circulated film stills from a Nigerian documentary film and movie. I titled it, "Reading in Motion" showing #Nollywood actress,, Celina James reading, "Conspiracy of Lagos" by Bisi Daniels in."Lagos in Motion " I showed three beautiful young Nigerian actresses reading novels about Lagos and Nigeria. Because, any motion picture of Lagos without showing any aspect of the literary culture and literature and haute couture of the people in Africa's largest megacity is incomplete. There is no narrator and no narration in the documentary film. I simply showed Lagos and people in the people in the city in motion.

Where is the Beauty in Lagos City?

"The true beauty of a city is not defined by the buildings, but by the lives of the people living in the city.

Lagos, Africa"s largest megacity looks beautiful on postcards and travelogues, but when you visit the city and see the nauseating filthy environment, you will know how dirty are the lives of many people living in Lagos city.
Or is there any beauty in a filthy city?

What matters most in the beauty of a city is not the architecture, but the culture and nature of the people. "

author and producer of "Lagos in Motion: Sights and Sounds of Africa's Largest Megacity".

Hollywood, Bollywood and Nollywood Prefer Fair and Light Skinned Actresses

Hollywood Actresses.

If you have been bingewatching Nollywood movies, you would have seen that majority of the Actresses are competing to look like the actresses in Bollywood and Hollywood in makeup, hairstyles and haute couture on the red carpets. They want to be fair and light skinned and with wavy long hairs. They are the most influential models who have made a "staggering 77% of women in Nigeria to use skin-lightening products. The skincare and cosmetics industry is taking advantage of their craze for lighter skin according to a report by the United Nations published on https//www.un.org/africarenewal/magazine/april-2019-july-2019/paying-high-price-skin-bleaching

Many of the young women in Nollywood and the Nigerian society want to look as fair and pretty as the celebrated Nollywood actresses like Monalisa Chinda, Tonto Dikeh and Mercy Aigbe. And so they bleach the skin to boost their self-esteem and egos among their peers.

The actors (both male and female) say there is a rule of thumb preference for fair and light skinned people in the entertainment industry for decades in Hollywood, Bollywood and Nollywood.

The controversial #OscarsSoWhite campaign years ago on the predominantly white nominees with the exclusion of filmmakers of colour made the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) to come up with programs and rules to favour diversity in the film industry and campaign against racism. But colorism is in fact worse than racism, because "Colorism is the practice of favoring lighter skin over darker skin by people of the same race and tribe. The preference for lighter skin can be seen within any racial or ethnic background. Such as preference for  Asians and Africans of fair and light complexion in the film industry. You can see the preference in over 90 percent of the movies, TV series and music videos.

Colourism is encouraging skin bleaching and the popularity of skin lightening creams, lotions and pills which the World Health Organization (WHO) is warning about the harmful side effects of dangerous consequences, including dermatitis (skin irritation), blue-black discolouration, skin cancer and even blindness.
