End Domestic Violence

End Domestic Violence
Help the world's 35% women stand up, #EndDV

NEW YORK, March 1, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Look at women around you – your dear family members, friends, coworkers and schoolmates, some of them are struggling to survive physical abuse and cruelty from their partners and loved ones. According to WHO, about 35% of women in the world victims of domestic violence. In a developed country as US, the ratio is 23.8%, which means 1 in every 4 women. Most of these women are silent because their situations give them no other choice and the chance is that we all know some abused and abusers even though we don't realize due to their silence.
However, silence does not mean peace. If we look at February, we see the month begin with the news of abuse and violence of well-established British sportswoman Ashpal Bhogal by her fiancĂ© & Captain of Indian Hockey team - Sardar Singh. She is still fighting for her justice. There is also the news of Johnny Manziel, American football star, abusing his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley, and Bollywood superstar Karisma Kapoor claims to be abused by her estranged husband industrialist Sunjay Kapur.

It doesn't end here, just hours before this article was written, a tragic shooting took place in Virginia US where Ronald Hamilton, 32-year-old Army staff sergeant killed his wife and her family members, again shocking us on how atrocious and deadly domestic violence can be.

Our heart is with the victims. For this reason and in honor of the upcoming International Women's Day, Rose Alley is launching an anti-domestic violence campaign in March 2016 to make efforts to #EndDV. The campaign will include articles, exclusive interviews and activities around the domestic violence issues; it is the time when facts are revealed, voices are heard, questions are answered and the status quo is challenged.
We are honored to have gained support from world-level and local organizations and influencers from US, UK, Canada and India. To further the efforts, we would like to invite any individuals, organizations and media to join this undertaking by contacting us at: contact@rosealley.com.
