Prof. Abiola Irele (22 May 1936 – 2 July 2017) was the greatest African literary scholar of his generation and will be remembered as one of the greatest erudite literary scholars of all time. An icon of the canon of modern African literary criticism.
I recommend a library should named after him. Preferably, the library of the University of Ibadan.
