Tunde Kelani To Release New Trailer and Official Poster of "Dazzling Mirage" on June 19


One of the most accomplished filmmakers in Africa Tunde Kelani will release a new trailer and official poster of his new film "Dazzling Mirage" on June 19, 2014, for the World Sickle Cell Awareness Day.


The United Nations classified sickle cell anemia as one of the most gangrenous common genetic diseases in the world which can lead to death. It is most common in several African and Asian countries. Also, locally, statistics indicate that there is a high sickle cell anemia rate.

 June 19th of every year was set to be the World Sickle Cell Awareness Day to increase awareness of this disease as being one of the most common health related problems. Moreover, it seeks to correct misconceptions about this disease, highlighting the importance of early before birth detection to know whether or not the fetus will be affected or if it is just a carrier. It should be noted that several treatment methods were discovered and its symptoms were reduced through bone marrow transplantation. 
Each year in Nigeria, 150,000 children are born with sickle cell disorder. Many die before they're five. Others live in pain with no hope of a cure. But Funmiwo will stop at nothing to have it all ...
"Dazzling Mirage" is the story of a talented, beautiful young sickle-cell sufferer who overcomes social stigma, prejudice and her own low self-esteem, to achieve career success, marriage and motherhood.

"Dazzling Mirage" features an all-star cast including Kemi (Lala) Akindoju, Kunle Afolayan, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Seun Akindele, Taiwo Ajai Lycett, Bimbo Manuel, Carol King, Khabirat Kafidipe, Bukola Awoyemi among others. The film is an adaptation of Olayinka Abimbola Egbokhare’s ‘Dazzling Mirage’. Kelani commissioned award-winning London-based and critically acclaimed Nigerian screenwriter Ade Solanke to bring this wonderful story to the screen.
