The cheering news of the return of IMAX to South Africa is already making headlines in the news and social media channels since the IMAX theaters at the Menlyn Park in Pretoria and Gateway Theatre of Shopping in Durban closed over three years ago on Wednesday, 30 June, 2010. The Hyde Park IMAX in Johannesburg closed in 2003 and Cape Victoria & Alfred Waterfront IMAX in Cape Town shut down in 2004.
