The perennial flooding caused by storm surge overflows cannot end until there are sustainable urban drainage systems. Government permitted the construction of many buildings on drainages or blocked off the canals and gutters. Majority of the LGAs don't have drainage systems. pic.twitter.com/0EFM9DuNqN

We have visited different LGAs and saw the causes of the perennial flooding. The state government caused 90 percent of the blocked drainages and lack of drainage systems in the LGAs.
