McCarthy Remarks Upon Accepting the Gavel as Speaker of the House

McCarthy Remarks Upon Accepting the Gavel as Speaker of the House

Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (CA-20) was sworn in as the 55th Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Below are the Speaker's remarks as prepared and the remarks will be streamed live here.

"Hakeem – I need to warn you: I also won 100 percent of my conference vote on this floor two years ago. So, good luck!

"I also want to thank the gentlelady who served as our presiding officer this week – our clerk Cheryl Johnson. Thank you Madame Clerk!

"You know – my father always told me: It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. And now we need to finish strong for the American people.

"If the son of a fireman and grandchild of immigrants can rise to the highest position in the most important legislative body in the world.

"And if my colleague Hakeem Jeffries with his life story can rise to lead his party then opportunity and democracy still thrive in America.

"To Leader Jeffries – there will be times we will agree and many times we will differ. I promise that our debates will be passionate, but never personal.

"And now the hard work begins. What we do here today, next week, next month, and next year will set the tone for everything that follows.

"Tonight, I want to talk directly to the American people.

"As Speaker of the House, my ultimate responsibility is not to my party, my conference, or even our Congress.

"My responsibility – our responsibility – is to our country.

"Two months ago, you voted for a new direction for our country. You embraced our Commitment to America. And now, we are going to keep our commitment to you.

"It’s a commitment for an economy that is strong – where you can fill up your tank and feed your family; where paychecks grow, not shrink.

"A commitment for a nation that’s safe – where communities are protected, law enforcement is respected, and criminals are prosecuted.

"A commitment for a future that is built on freedom – where children come first and are taught to dream big, because, in America, dreams can still come true.

"A commitment for a government that is accountable – where Americans get the answers they want, need, and deserve.

"Our system is built on checks and balances. It’s time for us to be the check and provide some balance to the President’s policies.

"There is nothing more important than making it possible for American families to live and enjoy the lives they deserve.

"That is why we commit to stop wasteful Washington spending to lower the price of groceries, gas, cars, and housing and stop the rising national debt.

"We pledge to cut the regulatory burden, lower energy costs for families, and create good-paying jobs for workers by unleashing reliable, abundant American-made energy.

"Our first bill will repeal funding for 87,000 new IRS agents. Because the government should be here to help you, not go after you.

"We’re going to pass bills to fix the nation’s urgent challenges – from the wide open southern border to America-Last energy policies to woke indoctrination in our schools.

"We will also address America’s long-term challenges: the debt and the Chinese Communist Party. Congress must speak with one voice on both of these issues.

"That is why we will end wasteful Washington spending! From now on, if a federal bureaucrat wants to spend it, they will come before this institution to defend it.

"As for the Chinese Communist Party, we will create a bipartisan Select Committee on China to investigate how to bring back hundreds of thousands of jobs that went to China and win the economic competition.

"Speaking of committees – we will hold the Swamp accountable – from the withdrawal from Afghanistan to the origins of COVID to the weaponization of the FBI.

"We will use the power of the purse and the power of the subpoena to get the job done.

"This is something we should all agree on – we will stand up and speak out for the backbone of our economy: the hardworking taxpayers.

"It’s nighttime here in Washington… but in some ways, it’s also a new beginning, a fresh start.

"My friends – this chamber is now fully open for all Americans.

"From the Committee Room to this Floor, we commit to pursue the truth passionately and embrace debate. No more one-sided inquiries. Competing ideas will be put to the test in public so that the best ideas win.

"But we also pledge to bring Congress to the people. Because answers have not and will not always be found in Washington.

"That’s why one of our first hearings will be held at the Southern border. No more ignoring this crisis of safety and sovereignty. We must secure our border.

"We must get America back on track.

"On a personal note, I want to say thank you to my family: my wife, Judy, my children Meghan, Connor and Emily, my brother Marc, Monica, and Zac, and my mom Bert. I am where I am because you are who you are.

"I would also like to thank my constituents in California’s Central Valley – especially my hometown of Bakersfield.
"As Buck Owens sings, 'how many of you that sit and judge me ever walked the streets of Bakersfield?'
"Well, I’ve walked those streets. I know its people. They are hard working and relentlessly optimistic about our future – and I’m honored to represent them in Congress.
"As a son of a firefighter, I saw first hand how teamwork, leadership, and service to others can change people’s lives. And that is exactly why we are here today: to serve you – the people.
"We come here with the support of our families and the faith of our neighbors to be their voice in Washington.

"For the husbands and wives, children and parents who are watching a loved one be sworn in, remember this moment. Take it in.

"Your loved one is about to become a part of history.

"My colleagues and I thank you for your understanding and your sacrifice. And we will work every day to make you proud.

"Abraham Lincoln – a member of the House of Representatives for one term – gave his life in service to this country. One of his most important observations about America applies today as much as it did 160 years ago:

"'We are striving to maintain the government and institutions of our fathers, to enjoy them ourselves, and to transmit them to our children and our children’s children forever.'

"My fellow Americans, that is still our mission today.

"This moment calls for restoring trust within the country and with each other.

"In that spirit, I will work with anyone and everyone who shares our passion to deliver a better future for the nation. I hope you will join me. As a Congress, we can only operate when we cooperate.

"It’s time for us to be their voice and worthy of their vote.
"Let me close with this.
"I hope one thing is clear after this week: I will never give up.

"I will never give up for you, the American people.
"And I will never give up on keeping our Commitment to America.
"Our nation is worth fighting for.
"Our rights are worth fighting for.
"Our dreams are worth fighting for.
"Our future is worth fighting for.

"Therefore, with love for this country and charity for each other, let us now take our Oath and be 'worthy of the office on which we are about to enter.'

"God Bless everyone in this Chamber, and God Bless America.

Peter Obi and the Demographics of Nigerian Politics

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the dysfunctional Labour Party (LP) and his "Obidients" are currently the most popular Nigerians on the internet and many of the "Obidients" have become cyber bullies on Twitter, Facebook and Nairaland attacking and insulting the presidential candidates of the other political parties in some of the worst derogatory terms of vitriol, including libellous defamation of the character of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presidential candidate of the national ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

Majority of the "Obidients" are ignorant of the nuances of intellectual discourse and ignorant of the intricacies of ethnicity in the demographics of Nigerian politics since the Independence of Nigeria on October 1, 1960 from the colonial rule of the British Empire and the consequences which caused the first Nigerian civil war between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the secessionists Republic of Biafra in the south eastern region of the Igbo tribe from 1967-1970. Majority of the "Obidients" were born after the gruesome war.

The majority of the Igbo youths have become passionate about the restoration of Biafra as an independent sovereignty and joined the vanguard of the secessionist groups of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and IndigenousPeople of Biafra (IPOB), because they believe the Igbo tribe will be better and greater as an independent nation. Since the civil war, nobody of the Igbo tribe has become the Head of State of Nigeria either in the military regimes or civilian administrations. They have accused the political leadership of the country by the Hausas, Fulanis and Yorubas of deliberately disallowing the Igbos from the leadership of the executive arm of the government of Nigeria.  Both the past national ruling party, People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the present national ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) have only chosen Yoruba and Hausa Fulani presidential candidates who became elected Presidents of Nigeria, except only Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who succeeded the late President Umaru Yar'Adua as acting President from  February 9, 2010 –  May 5, 2010 and duly elected President in the 2011 presidential election, the first person from the south-south region to become the President and Head of State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria until he was defeated in the 2015 presidential election by retired Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the APC.

Majority of the Igbo voters voted for Jonathan, because of their ethnic relationship with his own ethnic group of the Ijaw tribe.

To majority of the Igbos, Peter Obi can become attractive to majority of the voters of Ijaw tribe and the rest of the ethnic groups in the south-south region. But they have Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyichukwu Arthur Okowa who is Ika Igbo as the running mate of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the PDP who they will prefer to see as the Vice President of Nigeria if they win the 2023 presidential election.

The fact is majority of non-Igbos will not vote for Peter Obi to be elected as the President of Nigeria, because due to ingrained ethnic malice and prejudice, they don't like the Igbos who actually maltreated them during the civil war and are their political rivals in the leadership of Nigeria.

There are over 370 ethnic groups and over 500 languages in the country. The major ethnic groups are: Hausa (25%) Yoruba (21%) Ijaw (1.8%) Igbo (18%) Ibibio (3.5%) Tiv (2.4%) Fulani (6%) Kanuri (3%) Others (19.3%).

Without the support of the majority of the non-Igbo tribes and ethnic groups, Peter Obi cannot win the presidential election in 2023.

Confraternity of Christian Mothers Festac Celebrates with Mrs Muo

Obeying the Biblical admonition to Christians to rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn, members of the  Confraternity of  Christian Mothers, CCM from the Catholic Church of Visitation, Festac Town, Lagos on June 25, 2022, trooped out in their numbers to rejoice and felicitate with one of their own, Mrs Ann Muo at the wedding of her daughter, Augusta Ifeoma Muo.

The holy matrimony took place at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos.

The gaily dressed and vivacious CCM mothers proved to be their sister's keeper as they gave amble moral support to one of their own ensuring that the wedding was one of  the best organised social events in the recent time.

The bride's mother herself brought colour and distinction to bear on her daughter day of glory as her company, Spanset cakes & events ensured that everybody went home with a pack of cakes( different Flavours).

Founded in France over 150 years ago, the Confraternity of Christian Mothers was founded by lay women to discuss their struggles in raising their children and to pray for each other in a culture that had become increasingly opposed to Catholic values.

CCM members who graced the wedding include Mother Esther Okereke, president Emeritus, Mother Vivian Obi, Ex Vice President,

Mother Modesta Iguh president, Mother Adaku Agughasi, Vice President, Mother Ann Okorafor Treasurer.

Others include, Mother  Chioma Ekeh Provost, Mother Uche Emetarom, Financial Secretary 2, Mother Chinyere Chinedu, Provost 2, Mother Adaku, Ezeugo welfare.

The groom, an indigene ofJakpa, Warri North local government area, Delta State,  is a US-based Engineer while the bride who hails from Nnokwa, Idemili south of Anambra state, owns one of the latest boutiques in LEKKI phase 1, Lagos.

The rites of joining Ifeoma and John as husband and wife had begun a week earlier with a lavish but multi-cultural traditional wedding that witnessed a rich and enchanting blend of Igbo, Itsekiri and Yoruba cultures.

This was expected as the groom is Itsekiri with a Yoruba mother while the bride is Igbo from Anambra state.

The traditional wedding had in attendance Captains of Industry, politicians, professionals etc.

The galaxy of guests from virtually all parts of Nigeria gave the traditional wedding the colour of a pan-Nigerian event.

All Nigerian dishes which were served further added glamour to the wedding.

The colourful Itsekiri dance troupe ushered the groom amidst cheers.

The groom's mother, a Yoruba, added rich Yoruba panache to the event with breath-taking Yoruba eulogy and dance steps.

Guests at the traditional wedding included a former Senator representing Lagos East senatorial district and current MD/CEO of the  Federal Housing Authority, Sen.Gbenga Ashafa among other notables.

The classy traditional wedding foretold the quintessentially glamourous church wedding that took place on June 25.

The reception which was held at The Bell Campbell Event Centre, Campbell Street, Lagos, witnessed pomp, pageantry and colour.

It attracted the high and mighty in the society with exotic dishes and wines made available to all guests.

WHY NIGERIANS SHOULD KEY INTO ASIWAJU'S 2023 PRESIDENTIAL AMBITION

WHY NIGERIANS SHOULD KEY INTO ASIWAJU'S 2023 PRESIDENTIAL AMBITION

- By Hon Maureen Ashara

EXPERIENCE: Nigeria is a country undergoing economic instability.

At this time and more than ever before, our country needs an experienced, celebral, urbane, suave and detribalised leader with a country- wide appeal and necessary connections to pull it from the doldrums.

Evidently, Asiwsju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is that leader. He is the kind of politician who could innovatively strategize ideas and tailor them towards reforming Nigerian's economy.

Asiwaju's experience as a two time Lagos state governor and his ability to transform the State and made it the envy of the world highly recommend him to the exalted office of the presidency of Nigeria.

He has done it before and will do it again, this time around, for Nigeria.

COMPETENCE: Asiwaju has the eyes for the best- best of human resources. As Governor, he assembled a team of best brains to help him give Lagos quality governance.Nigerians today bear witnesses to the elegant result of that foresightedness.

It is no secret that some of such best brains Asiwaju spotted and given leadership and governance responsibilities are today part of the team at the federal level helping President Buhari to fix Nigeria. Talk of the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbeshola( Interior Minister),  Babatunde Fashola (SAN) (Works Minister), Lai Muhammed ( Information Minister), Femi Gbajabiamila(Speaker of House of Reps) Ben Akanueze( DG, Budgdet office) etc and you will remember Asiwaju.

If Asiwaju, as Governor can raise the men he has in different cadres, then he can replicate thesame as President.

As President, Asiwaju will  make right choice in choosing people who will be around him to work with him such as ministers and aides.

It's evident that he can't lead alone, it's his ability to surround himself with resounding personnels that will determine his success in the office just as it did as Lagos state Governor. Asiwaju indeed has a way of identifying and harvesting talents.

VISION: Asiwaju is visionary. This played out in his time as the Lagos State Governor and can be gleaned from his ability to visualize the Lagos of today which we are enjoying.

He has the same vision to re-orient Nigeria and give our a new economical, infrastructural, and democratic lease of life.

Emphatically, there's no better, qualified person to lead Nigeria come 2023 than the right man, Sen. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

On your mandate we stand.

Support , Love, Speak, Think, Act and Project Asiwaju 2023.

Hon. Mrs Ashara Maureen Chika ( Ugosimba) is the

Executive Vice Chairman Amuwo Odofin LGA, Lagos.

OPEN LETTER TO THE ATTORNEY-GENERAL OF THE FEDERATION

NIGER DELTA JUSTICE FORUM

No. 86 Nwaniba Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Telephone: +24 912 460 8050

OPEN LETTER TO THE ATTORNEY-GENERAL OF THE FEDERATION

September 7, 2021

The Hon. Attorney-General and Min. of Justice

Mr. Abubakar Malami

Federal Ministry of Justice, Abuja.

Sir,

RE: NDDC FORENSIC AUDIT REPORT: MATTERS ARISING.

We write with reference to the mendacious and dissembling report submitted to you and disingenuously labelled ‘’forensic audit report on NDDC 2001-2019’’ by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.

We decided to write this open letter to you because apart from being the Chief Law Officer of the Federation, you are a man with an incisive, deeply analytical legal mind and the so called report was submitted to you.

A cursory look at recent national news headlines betrays the malevolent intention of those who orchestrated the audit report. The mechanics employed by the planners was awful, the tactics deployed by the executors was dreadful and the metrics and barometer of the work of the forensic auditors were abysmal. They deliberately mismanaged the entire process and concocted a scheme to mislead you in order to achieve a predetermined outcome.

The exact amount of funding received by NDDC from 2001 to 2019 is a matter of public information and available in the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation and that of NEITI. If this basic but fundamental element of the forensic audit report can be intentionally misrepresented to create a baseless sensation, then the report leaves much to be desired.

For the avoidance of doubt, NDDC has received the following sums of money from 2001 to 2019:

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CONTRIBUTIONS:   N760,165,606,560.32

GOVT (OMPADEC ELECTRICITY FUND):          N2,500,000,000.00

STATE GOVERNMENT GRANTS:                       N18,175,000.00

OIL COMPANIES CONTRIBUTIONS:                 N1,623,690,225,765.07

OTHER INCOME:                                                 N19,566,957,137.81

TOTAL RECEIPTS:                                                N2, 405,940,964,463.20

(See link for attached PDF NDDC REVENUES )

Sir, the puzzling question that should agitate your mind is what mathematical abracadabra did the Minister and auditors employ to arrive at the N6 trillion figure which they presented to you when it is clear from the above table that NDDC received only N2.4 trillion between 2001 -2019 (a period of eighteen years)? Does it mean that the auditors don’t know the difference between income and approved budget or were they instructed to engage in deliberate misrepresentation? This misinformation is not only misleading, wicked and unconscionable but also inimical to future growth of the Niger Delta region. It is capable of inciting other regions against the Niger Delta now already being perceived as having frittered away a whopping sum of N6 trillion. To this end, we implore you, sir, to verify these figures and urgently correct this callous falsehood.

A forensic audit as a matter of practice must scale certain matrixes including planning, collecting evidence, writing a report with additional step of a potential court appearance to concur or disprove the fraud committed. Are the independent and dependent variable concepts/framework adopted by the auditors in the report submitted to you testable? Were the records they used appropriate to the problems or gaps they tried to fill? What type of data collection methods were used? Was there any rationale for the non-usage of technical tools and non-analysis of bills of engineering measurements to evaluate the extent of work done on projects? Was their observational guide sufficient to justify their reports? Were the contractors interviewed, who were the interviewers and how were they trained to minimize bias?

With due respect sir, the truth is that there was no forensic audit in the true sense of it. The report you have is the end product of a shambolic and scrappy exercise cleverly devised to deflate and buy time to continue to maintain absolute control over the finances of NDDC. It was pre-arranged to indict pre-determined targets.

The President ordered the forensic audit in October 2019 but the audit proper in the states started less than six months ago. It is noteworthy that about 40% of NDDC projects are located in riverine areas which the auditors could not access with gunboats because of low tide especially in Bayelsa, Rivers and Delta States. You may wish to independently verify this assertion. Some of the auditors complained aloud of censorship and lack of access to vital documents. The field auditors would spend less than 10 minutes at a 2 klms. shoreline protection project, 2 sq klm dredging site or a canalization project and use their observational guide to make a determination without the aid of technical tools such as total station, theodolite, fathometer or any form of sounding equipment. They would go to a 20klm road project completed more than 10 years ago in a challenging terrain, drive on less than 1klm distance of the road and without extracting the core for testing write a report as instructed by the orchestra conductor.

The auditors did not bother with funding issues, design issues, community and terrain challenges, legal disputes etc. They never interviewed a single contractor neither did they bother to relate with the engineers and consultants who supervised the projects. It is common knowledge that the auditors didn’t visit up to 30% of the advertised 13,777 abandoned projects they wrote reports on because of the constraint of time and terrain difficulties. How then can this report withstand the slightest legal scrutiny?

NDDC has had its audited report submitted to the Auditor-General of the Federation, the National Assembly, NEITI, The NDDC Presidential Reports and other regulatory agencies. It is unprofessional for the auditors not to have liaised with any of these agencies for independent confirmation of information.

The audit report is littered with intentional acts of muddling to control, scare, scandalize or bring to public opprobrium certain persons who have been targeted for embarrassment. This clearly explains the pre-audit allegations of a certain person who was receiving N1bn monthly as consultancy fees to collect debts from IOCs and another one who was accused of abandoning a $70m project which up till today have not been substantiated despite several challenges to prove same.

The recommendation of the report that board membership of the commission should be on part time basis in order to reduce costs should be ignored because it demonstrates clearly that the auditors did not even bother to read the Act setting up the Commission and they conveniently refused to question the thousands of people that management has surreptitiously employed in the last two years without recourse to due process.

While we recognize the need to diligently audit the finances of NDDC especially in the last two years and tackle the malfeasance that has bedeviled it and establish a credible template for efficient service delivery, it is our contention that the purported ‘’forensic audit report’’ submitted to you is not worth the Ghana-must-go bags in which they were delivered as the report cannot stand any basic accounting or legal challenge. The report should either be referred to the Auditor-General of the Federation for a review or be sent back to the Minister for his continuous entertainment.

Sir, please do not lend the weight of your office to the antics of desperate plutocrats who want to keep on embarrassing the government.

Thank you.

Realistically Profiling President Muhammadu Buhari on National Security With Facts

Realistically Profiling President Muhammadu Buhari on National Security With Facts

Part 1

Political leaders all over the world prefer euphemisms to harsh  criticisms and don't often like political incorrectness in public. But flattery is the worst form of praise.
Saying the truth, whether bitter or sweet is the best in overcoming the challenges of the existential realities of life in the world.

Freedom of speech is fundamental to the establishment of true democracy and good governance in the political administraton of every federal government. But freedom of speech can be abused and misused. Freedom of speech must be based on facts and not falsehood.

I have read some news reports on those who have been arrested and even convicted for the defamation of the personality of President Muhammadu Buhari. They insulted him and so they were arrested and jailed after being judged guilty.  But I have seen that those who have been prosecuted and convicted for the defamation of the personality of President Buhari were powerless poor people who could not afford the services of good human rights lawyers. Whereas, I have seen celebrated political activists and state governors of the opposition party lambasting the President with fury and vitriol in public and the law enforcement agents did not query or arrest them. Why?
The state governors have immunity? What of the political activists who insulted him and are still walking about freely from Lagos to Abuja.
Many have called him a criminal and a terrorist and other derogatory names on Nairaland and escaped prosecution and indictment.

The horrifying incidents of kidnappings and killings in different states have provoked the worst criticisms of President Buhari and blamed for the failures of the state governors in internal security.  And majority of the citizens have also blamed him in ignorance of the separation of powers of the government administraton of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Majority of Nigerians are the underprivileged masses of poorly educated low income workers who are ruled by gullibility and the herd mentality of their religious beliefs of Christianity and Islam. And majority of them are also suffering from political amnesia, because they quickly forget the political history of Nigeria and the different political administrations and because they don't read, they often rely on hearsays, gossip and rumours for their assumptions and then jumping into ambiguous and erroneous conclusions on both the past and present current affairs in the country since the Independence of Nigeria on October 1, 1960 to date.

Whatever remarkable progress reports on the achievements and milestones in the administraton of President Buhari have been overlooked in the raging storms of insecurity ravaging the country. But the amnesia and ignorance of the majority of Nigerians would have been addressed by the Ministry of Information and Culture and not abandoned for Mr. Femi Adesina, the Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity and his colleague, Mallam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant Adviser on Media and Publicity of President Buhari.

I have read a lot about the Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) that recommended community policing to assist in complementing the efforts of the federal government in combating home grown terrorism which actually is the best recommendation, because community policing will be more effective in the identification of the causes of the grievances for communal clashes between herders and farmers, inter-tribal conflicts and banditry.
Community policing will end communal clashes, kidnappings and killings in different states. And the state governors should be responsible for that and not always crying wolf and calling for the head of President Buhari for their failures to secure lives and properties in the various communities in their states.

Cases studies in the peaceful community relations and conflict resolutions among herders and farmers in other countries in Africa will help to end the recurrent horrifying incidents of communal clashes, kidnappings and killings in Nigeria.

The Insensitivity of President Muhammadu Buhari and First Lady Aisha Buhari

The Insensitivity of President Muhammadu Buhari and First Lady Aisha Buhari

It is heartbreaking to hear that some of the 156 abducted girls of the Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School, Tegina in the Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State have died in the den of the bandits since they were kidnapped on May 30, 2021. The girls, including some as young as 5 years old spent the Eid- el-Kabir festival in the den of their abductors.

Since January, there have been over 111 tragic incidents of kidnappings with more than 1, 520 people killed in different states in Nigeria, with the worst cases in Zamfara, Borno, Kaduna and Katsina, the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari. But it is really shocking that while these horrifying incidents of kidnappings and killings have been increasiing, President Buhari and his wife, Mrs. Aisha Buhari who pretends to be humane were busy pampering their own children in their safe havens in Nigeria, the UK and Dubai when the parents of the abducted children have been harrowing in sorrow over their missing children and others mourning the tragic loss of the precious lives of their sons and daughters in the hands of the evil and wicked bandits and terrorists. The mother of one of the kidnapped children of the Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School collapsed and died from heartbreak.

In the gloomy atmosphere of insecurity in the country, President Buhari and his wife were using the wedding of the arranged marriage of their son, Yusuf Buhari and Princess Zahra Ado Bayero, the daughter of the Emir of Bichi in Kano State for boosting their public relations and distractions of gullible Nigerians from the terrifying occurrences of kidnappings and killings in the Middle Belt and northern Nigeria. And at the same time, there was a big ceremony televised live for the draws of the innaugural Dr. Aisha Buhari Cup's Invitational Women’s Football Tournament for selected countries in Africa, that will be hosted by Lagos from 13th – 21st September 2021.  Simply, an image laundering event for the promotion of her public relations.

The millions of dollars spent on the glamorous state wedding attended by Nigerian millionaires and billionaires who flew on dozens of private jets to Kano would have been more than enough to pay the ransoms to free the hundreds of unfortunate underprivileged children suffering and dying in the dens of bandits. But the insensitive President Buhari and his wife Aisha and their fellow egocentric elites of the greedy ruling class don't care, because none of their precious children has been kidnapped or murdered by bandits and terrorists on rampage in Nigeria.

The insecurity in Nigeria is caused by corrupt and incompetent government administraton and not by poverty.
