The Future Is Looking Bright For Tourism in Nigeria

The Future Is Looking Bright For Tourism in Nigeria

The report by World Travel Market and Euromonitor International states that the amount of foreign tourists making their way to Nigeria is predicted to rise by at least three percent each year until 2016. The amount of people booking trips to the country is set to rise by four and a half percent by the end of 2013. This means extra money for the hotel, entertainment and travel industries. According to a recent study, Nigeria ranks first in the world for rate of hotel construction, with over forty new hotels set to open within the next half decade.

Lagos has emerged as the main site for holiday accommodation, with numerous luxury hotels in the works. Hopefully within the next decade, Nigeria will be one of the world’s premier vacation destinations. The country has everything from wildlife and breathtaking scenery to one of the world’s best film industries so it is high time that it became a hub for foreign visitors. Perhaps this could be the boost to Nigeria’s economy that will alleviate the poverty that grips some of the nation.

Warning To Irresponsible Nigerian Parents To Protect Our Children

There are many irresponsible Nigerian parents breeding children who grow up into irresponsible adults, because of bad parenting.

Nigerian churches and mosques should not only preach and quote the holy Scriptures, but must teach good parenting. A stitch in time saves nine. Well bred children grow up to become responsible adults and not juvenile delinquents and criminals.

Underage children sent to hawk on the streets.
Many children are maltreated and assaulted by wicked parents, guardians and predators.

Irresponsible Nigerian parents send their underage children on errands and expose them to  dangers on the streets.
Irresponsible Nigerian parents suffer their children gladly as underage housemaids and hawkers on the streets.
Several unfortunate children have been lured by kidnappers, rapists and ritual killers lurking around as predators in different parts of Nigeria.
Irresponsible Nigerian parents let their underage children go to school alone without escorting them. I have seen irresponsible parents risking the lives of their innocent children in the hands of housemaids. I have seen  housemaids struggling to take little children across the streets facing the dangers of reckless drivers.

Only irresponsible parents will leave three to four little children for an housemaid to take to and from school while their mother is at home pretending to do chores, but watching TV or chatting and gossiping with her mobile phone.

Parenting is the foundation for nation building.

There is nothing more important to a family than the children. Don't risk their innocent lives no matter the circumstances of their birth. If you are too poor and insecure to take good care of children, please don't have them. If you cannot make children happy, please don't have any child.
No child asked to be born poor and underprivileged.

Nation building begins from the cradle and not until you get to the corridors of power.
Parents are the ones who nurture well bred children to become well bred leaders of the future.

Without Film Treaties Nigeria is Lagging Behind South Africa in the Global Film Industry

Without film treaties, Nigeria is lagging behind South Africa in the global film industry.

South Africa has so far signed co-production treaties with the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, Italy, United Kingdom, New Zealand, France, Ireland and Australia.
Establishing the legal framework for international co-productions is more important than repeating publicity stunts on CNN, because showcasing Nollywood and Kannywood on CNN or Al Jazeera is nothing new since they have been done before.
Don't waste the money on such unnecessary hype.
Let us stop misplacing our priorities in the sustainable development of the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Who are the 20 notable filmmakers the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture wants to showcase on CNN?
Based on which criteria?
Lancelot Imasuen has been on both CNN and Al  Jazeera.
Jeta Amata has been on CNN.
Femi Odugbemi, Mahmood Ali-Balogun and other notable Nigerian filmmakers have been on Al Jazeera.
You can see the video on http://www.indiewire.com/2014/05/is-nollywood-a-genre-or-the-new-name-for-the-entire-nigerian-film-industry-235876/.

If you are showcasing 20 notable Nigerian filmmakers, don't forget the best Nigerian female directors noted on http://totnaija.blogspot.com.ng/2017/07/nollywood-and-best-nigerian-female.html.
Then also highlight the best tourist locations for film productions in Nigeria as shown on http://totnaija.blogspot.com.ng/2014/01/the-best-film-locations-in-nigeria.html.

Let us establish the priorities in the development of the Nigerian film industry.

2019 Presidebtial Election and the Rule #1 of 48 Laws of Power

Many people in the world make the terrible mistake of violating the Rule #1 of the 48 Laws of Power and the worst place to make this mistake is in the corridors of power; from Alausa to Abuja.

2019 is going to be a very interesting year for the political leadership of Nigeria. There will be two new presidential nominees from the APC and PDP. One of them will have an Igbo Vice Presidential candidate.

In 1990, I was still in my 20s, but employed as a PA to Hon. Babatunde Ereola, the Director of Publicity for Alhaji Bamanga Tukur's Presidential Campaign with High Chief Raymond Dokpesi as the Director of Security.  I saw the handwriting on the Wall and left. What followed next was the cancellation of the presidential primaries to stop the leading presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the retired Major-General Shehu Musa Yar'Adua (March 5, 1943 – December 8, 1997) from wining the presidential election.
I knew that the presidential elections would be aborted.

Majority of Nigerians don't know that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was one of founders of the party that later produced the leadership of the SDP that contested against the National Republican Convention (NRC) in the ill-fated presidential election of 1993.
Shehu Musa Yar'Adua and his group formed the People's Front of Nigeria. Members included Babagana Kingibe, Atiku Abubakar, Bola Tinubu,Magaji Abdullahi, Ango Abdullahi, Ahmadu Rufa'i, Yahaya Kwande, Abdullahi Aliyu Sumaila, Wada Abubakar, Babalola Borishade, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,M.S.Buhari and Farouk Abdulazeez.
