They Say President Buhari's Economy is Bad, But 2face is Opening Night Clubs
The detractors of President Muhammadu Buhari cry and whine that his economy is bad, but 2Face Idibia opened another branch of his chain of night clubs on upper class Victoria Island of the megacity of Lagos state, Africa's fifth biggest economy.
The most mindboggling of this development which cost him millions of naira is the fact that he opened the night club whilst he was calling for a nationwide political protest march against the administration of President Buhari by condemning the economic situation in Nigeria with a long list of goods sold at exorbitant prices and how Nigerians are suffering from the economic recession. But whilst thousands of his fans were being mobilized for the nationwide protests, 2Face was busy putting finishing touches on his new upscale night club on Victoria Island in addition to the other branches in Festac Town and Ikeja on the mainland of Lagos.
His fellow entertainers who were also supporting his protest against the federal government were buying expensive luxury cars and SUVs and traveling on private jets. One of them bought a brand new Range Rover Autobiography for N80 million.
They whine about the economic hardship and the same Nigerians they claim are suffering are spending millions of naira on tickets to their musical shows; paying gate fees to their night clubs; downloads of their caller tones; going to the cinemas to watch their movies and more than 3 million Nigerians invested over US$1B in the Russian MMM Ponzi scheme and more than 60 million Nigerians between the ages 18 and 60 spend more than N1.8 billion daily on betting. Millions more spend millions of Naira daily on useless phone calls and idle chats and gossips on their mobile phones.
You see a young Nigerian without job using an expensive smart phone and spending so much money on airtime every month that can be enough to start a profitable small scale business in Nigeria.
The hypocrisy and stupidity of these Nigerians make intelligent people to wonder if they are intellectually re-tarded or cursed.
Thousands of them came out for their street protests on Monday, but only for about four hours and left after their brouhaha that the great legendary Fela Kuti of blessed memory called "Shakara".
Empty barrels make the loudest noise.
