500,000 Will Attend 2014 Toronto International Film Festival



From the 35, 000 who attended the inaugural film festival in 1976, 500, 000 people are expected to attend the 39th Toronto International Film Festival opening today with David Dobkin's The Judge, an American drama starring Robert Downey Jr, who is famous for his role as Stan Lee's Marvel superhero Tony Stark/Iron Man in Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Marvel's The Avengers (2012), and Iron Man 3 (2013). He has been nominated twice for the Academy Awards for Best Actor in Chaplin (1992) and for Best Supporting Actor in Tropic Thunder in 2008; Robert Duvall who is famous as Tom Hagen in The Godfather (1972) and The Godfather Part II (1974) has received six Academy Awards nominations and winning an Oscar for Best Actor as country western singer Mac Sledge in Tender Mercies (1983), six Golden Globes nominations (winning four), and has multiple nominations and one win each of the BAFTA, Screen Actors Guild Award and Emmy Award; Vera Farmiga, Vincent D'Onofrio, Dax Shepard, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Lancaster, and Billy Bob Thornton.
