Write Like An Author, Sell Like An Entrepreneur

Write Like An Author, Sell Like An Entrepreneur is the product of very interesting conversations with many authors around the globe. The notion that an excellent book will ultimately sell itself with or without good promotion is the reason many writers become discouraged when they suddenly realize that literally excellence does not automatically equate to commercial success.

- Does my target audience have the purchasing power to buy my book

- Where is my target audience located?

- What are the things that can trigger them to buy or not to buy my book? etc.

This book provides you with; a trajectory on how to answer these questions and the strategies you need to build a profitable business out of your writing career.

And for those who are yet to begin or finish a manuscript because of the fear of the unknown, this book will help you come out of the fear zone, clarify your message and pen down your words in the most beautiful way possible.

Dr. Chika Abazu and Ideato 2023: A Healer Cometh

Dr. Chika Abazu and Ideato 2023: A Healer Cometh

- By Michael Nnaji

An Avatar is set to happen on Ideato North and South federal constituency of Imo state.Dr. Chika Abazu is an agent of redemption and has sprang forth from his comfort zone in the civil service to offer to fill a yawning void in political presentation of the constiency.

Round the clock care for patients is consistent with medical practice and as a medical doctor of many years standing, Dr. Abazu is emphatic that his mission in politics and desire to represent the Ideato nation is borne out of the urgent need to pull the federal constituency from the doldrums, to heal it of its myriad of ills.

World all over, medical doctors in politics, bringing to bear on governance and leadership, elements of the Hippocratic Oath they swore to, are known to have performed creditedly well in office.

History is indeed replete with an array of medical doctors who have been politicians and political leaders and offered quality leadership the same way they would give quality care to their patients. Some of the famous ones are the Latin American Revolutionary Leader, Che Guevara, Hastings Kamuzu Banda of Malawi, Agostinho Neto of Angola, Salvador Allende of Chile, Francois Duvalier (Papa Doc) of Haiti, Gor Harlem Brundtland, First Norwegian Female PM, Houphoet Boigny of Ivory Coast, Nain Ramgoolan, PM of Mauritius, as well as the great Mahathir Bin Mohammed of Malaysia, who before his voluntary retirement from politics.

Here in Nigeria Medical doctors who became state governors or occupied other political office in the recent past and showed their mettle include Prof Ambrose Alli, Peter Odili, Bukola Saraki, Chimaoroke Nnamani, Chris Ngige, Emmanuel Uduaghan, who was also succeeded by another medical doctor, Ifeanyi Okowa, Olusegun Mimiko.

Also remarkable are former Secretaries to State Governments, Senators and Members of the House of Representatives such as Bisi Odejide, Dalhatu Tafida, Jubril Aminu, Martins Yellowe, Olorunnimbe Mamora, Aminu Safana, Wale Okediran among others, not to talk of Heads of Parastatals, Commissioners and Local Government officers.

From the foregoing, it is evident that medical doctors in politics have always left a trail of quality, people oriented and purposeful leadership.

There is no doubt that as the representative of Ideato people come next year, Dr Abazu will be following on the footsteps of these medical legends turned political icons.

Sons and daughters of the the Ideato ancient kingdom who rue and grief over almost eight years of vapid representation at the House of Representatives in Abuja can now heave a sigh of relief  for Dr. Abazu is coming to right that which has been messed up and fix that which has been broken.

All he is asking for is to be given the All Progressives, APC House of Reps ticket and for the good people of Ideato to cast their votes for him in next year's election to enable him to usher in a dew of glory, the dawn of freshness and an exhilarating breathe of fresh air to the federal constituency.

If elected into the House of Reps as the representative of Ideato people, Dr. Abazu, pledges, in his words, "Prudent utilisation of Constituency Funds for genuine, people-focused, transparent and verifiable projects and programs".

His focuse, according to him will be social amenities and infrastructures, health care, quality education, economic empowerment, medium size agricultural and settlement  scheme akin to the Isreali Kitbzu system and social welfare for youths.

Dr. Abazu, is clearly the most prepared and focused among the aspirants angling for the Ideato North and South federal constituency seat.

Here is a man imbued with excellent mental, physical and academic qualifications to mount the exalted seat. He is God-fearing, honest, hardworking, dedicated, focused, charismatic and with rare leadership qualities that are tailored towards societal development.

A Public Health Physician of over 22 years experience in Civil Service; Dr. Abazu has risen to the position of a Director at the Federal Civil Service and has served at various levels with merit and distinction.

A consummate professional whose passion is excellence in service delivery for the good of humanity, Dr. Abazu is an alumnus of Abia State University,  Nigeria Defence Academy Kaduna, West Virginia University Morgantown USA and Emory University Atlanta USA. He is happily married with Children.

Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Humanity

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND FUTURE OF HUMANITY

-  BY BABATUNDE ADEKANMBI

Artificial Intelligence is a  branch of computer science that deal extensively  with writing computer programs that can solve problems creatively. " Solving problems have been highlighted as an essential skill in the workplace , but in a timely fashion and creative manner showcase some level of intelligence in an individual.

Looking at the context of what technological innovation have introduced,  the development of Artificial Intelligence  applications with some other  peripherals that compliment it existence  like robotics, data analytics, big data, machine learning  all geared towards making life and processes easier.

There are speculations regarding the future of Humanity in terms of displacement of jobs, eradication of some existing job roles in which the introduction of Artificial Intelligence have taken full course in that regard.

It expedient as humans we further upskill our existing skill set to better suite some limited job roles that the Artificial Intelligence have introduced because in reality not all existing job roles can be displaced, we can only experience scrapping of some job roles and companies are willing to align to this New modality as this suite their profit marginalization

We would also now see that  workers in AI hope to imitate or duplicate intelligence in computers and robots as an to be in the know particularly understanding the technical know how of working proceedings introduced by artificial intelligence . Employees are now having a better understanding as regards the prerogative behind the interest of corporations in integrating New features emanating from the application of Artificial Intelligence and there's for them to align.

It's evident that to a large extent the introduction of artificial intelligence have displaced some existing job roles and it's intended to take more as innovators are doing continuous improvement and research on how New features can be applied to further enhances the relevance of artificial intelligence and other peripherals like robotics applications which have delve extensively into the educational, medical space and profer New working modalities for effectiveness in this sector.  The FMCGs cannot be taken out as robotics machine now aid the production processes .

Why this impact of Artificial Intelligence have greater control on job roles companies can equally integrate learning faculties to upskill their personnels to suit the New Woking modalities set up by this innovation.  The cost implications of attain some level of knowledge in this regard is pretty unaffordable particularly for the unskilled or semiskilled Labour.

The Future of Humanity in terms of displacement of jobs should be placed in a controllable situation and also private and public sectors while trying to maximize profits and safe cost should avoiding jeopardizing the interest of their personnels and this can increase the rate of unemployment in our society.

The Government can also contribute by setting up policies that ensure the interest of employees are guided,  corporations adhere to this policies and also in their capacities create an ecosystem that not only accomodate the introduction and continuous developmentand improvement of Artificial Intelligence and other relatable resources but ensuring there is a striking balance for all concerned parties.

Nollywood : Between The Palme d'Or and Netflix d'Or

Nollywood : Between The Palme d'Or and Netflix d'Or

Well, if #Nollywood movies cannot qualify for the Official Selection for the competition for the Palme d'Or at the annual Cannes Film Festival in France, they have qualified for the Originals Selection of the #Netflix on the world wide web.

It would be great to have an annual Netflix Awards where Nigerian movies can make the Official Selection for competition for a Netflix d'Or.

If after more than 20 -30 years of making movies and your greatest achievement is having your movies on Netflix while your fellow filmmakers in other African countries are competing with the best filmmakers in the world in the Official Selection of the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival coming up from May 17 - May 28, 2022, is still better, because you to have something to cheer about than have nothing to brag about.

Cheers!

Nollywood Still Missing at the Cannes Film Festival

Nollywood Still Missing at the Cannes Film Festival

30 years since the production of the blockbuster home video, "Living in Bondage" in 1992 and 20 years after the New York Times coined the word #Nollywood in 2002 for the phenomenal guerilla film industry in Nigeria with over 2000 movies produced annually and rated as the second largest film industry in the world after the #Bollywood of India and ahead of #Hollywood of America, no Nollywood movie has ever been chosen for the Official Selections of the Cannes Film Festival when filmmakers from other African countries have competed with the best for the highly coveted Palme d'Or and have won it a couple of times.

Morocco, Senegal, Ghana and Mali are among the countries with films in the Official Selection of the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival beginning on Tuesday, 17 May and ending on Saturday, 28 May.

https://www.festival-cannes.com/en/infos-communiques/communique/articles/the-films-of-the-official-selection-2022.

While, the ambitious filmmakers in the world are going to be in competition for the highly coveted Palme d'Or, at the Cannes Film Festival in France, Nigerian filmmakers are hyping themselves on Instagram and competing for bragging rights in Nollywood.

Nollywood filmmakers are lagging behind in the biggest competitions in the global film industry. That is why none of them has qualified for the Official Selections of the Cannes Film Festival and nominations for the Academy Awards.

India will be the official ‘Country of Honour’ at the upcoming Marche’s Du Film which will be organized alongside the Cannes Film Festival 2022 in France. And this is the first time that such honour has been bestowed on any country.

Nollywood, where art thou?
